Staff was very friendly but the rooms are very old and not very clean. Water is hot and you get a mosquito net though. Price for a double bed room is 60 000 Kip. Food is between 20 000 and 30 000 Kip for dishes like fried rice. Asked specifically for a dish without fish sauce (in Lao and English) as I'm allergic to fish. The waitress understood and told me my dish was made without which means that they don't clean their pans properly as I got an allergic reaction. The other dishes were below average as well. Better stay at Phosy Guesthouse for the same price.

Paid 40k kip per night (Oct 2017) for a bungalow with en-suite squat. Was comfortable. Get there early as they where pretty much full when we arrived at 16:00. They have an optional all you can eat BBQ in the evening for 50k per person which was nice as you sit round a table with everyone, but the food wasnt the best.

If you're doing the Thakhek motorbike loop than this will be your first stop to sleep. Located in Thalang, this VERY BASIC guest house offers dorms and bungalows depending on your budget. There is a large covered outdoor area with bar where they play music videos on the screen and host an all you can eat BBQ for 50,000 kip. There are only two guest houses in Thalang and this is the preferred place. The owner is also one of the nicest people I have ever met. Extremely helpful in giving directions and advice for the loop.

Excellent option for simple, friendly, and warm accommodation in the village with simple cabins (30,000 Kip for a small bed; 40,000 for a large bed; and less for tents / more for multiple people). All-you-can eat nightly BBQ around a campfire for 50,000 Kip major plus!

Big open area right near the water. Great staff, comfy beds, amazing BBQ. Good for socialising with other travelers & locals. Might even see a spectacular show if there is a thunderstorm.

Bungalows on the la lake, restaurant, dorms, parking, BBQ, campfire and guitar by the evening, I'm glad I choose this place. Sabaydee, very funny guy too :)

Great little place with great value. Little chalets with own bathroom although dont expect loads of hot water. Nice bar and bbq dinner beer breakfast and room for $10
