Biggest Buddha temple in Vientiane. Large open area and many temple buildings adjacent to each other. There is a 10k kip entry ticket for That Luang museum that is where the stupa in a golden colour. This is symbol of Laos and a must visit place in Vientiane.

National symbol of Laos. Anyone visiting the country should stop here. It's believed that a piece of the Buddha's collarbone is in there somewhere. This place was nearly empty, and a beautiful place to wander around. There's lots of temples adjacent to it. Entry was cheap, like 10k. A little more than a dollar.

Pha That Luang is considered the most holy Buddhist site in Laos. As a photographer I would recommend not going when the sun is at it's highest, hope for some clouds in the sky and try to get some people in the photo to to give the monument some perspective and life.

Very nice place to visit but if you are travelling in afternoon make sure to keep your umbrella as you have to walk around too much near temples and there are four to five small Buddha temple Also there is an entry fees which is not too much. Inside that campus you will also find village restaurant where you can hire local costume to wear and click some nice pictures

Just another temple to look at, some of the vendors there were interesting. There was a guy with a mobile print station taking portraits for people in front of the temple. In addition to that there were women selling ice cream and some that sold caged birds that you release.

Speculated temple. Worth for a trip to visit any time . Especially during the Bun That Luang which is one of biggest festival in Vientiane. There will be alot special activities there.

Interesting walk around. We didn't have the right clothes on to go into the temples but the Buddha lying down and the gold stupa, plus the temples themselves look lovely.

An iconic temple complex to visit as this is the national monument of Laos and stands proudly in the capital of Vientiane. I was lucky enough to visit prior to the renovation work and was able to capture some stunning pictures. It's a peaceful temple which I would recommend visiting in the cooler hours of the morning.

Very nice chill area to visit, between the temples and the golden stupa. It' indeed the most important national monument in Laos and the nation symbol. Be aware that the stupa has been under renovation for quite some years, so not much it's visible inside.

I wish I read the recent reviews. Unless if you want to make an offering to the Buddha inside, it's not worth the 10k kips as the buddha images are all covered up during the renovation work inside. The views outside the walls are just as stunning. Ask or find out first if the renovations are done. Otherwise, the surrounding structures are also worth visiting.

Paid 5000 kip to enter the museum but as renovations are underway you only get to walk around the edge of the structure. Not worth the entry fee right now. The other buildings are free to enter and worth a visit.

City bus (5k kip) or bus 20 (4k) will take you to this temple. Entrance fee 5k to golden stupa. Main building accessible but almost nothing inside, side building closed, golden stupa shelter walkway under renovation.

Really cool temple, not undergoing repairs at the time of writing. There was a festival going on whilst we were there. Females make sure to dress appropriately as the dress code is very strict.
