Nice place to visit, very calm and peaceful. Check out the opening timings before you visit it.There is entrance ticket 10000 kip for foreigners and 3000 kip for locals.

Actually, it’s name is Sisaket Museum. I love this place because of the quiet and peaceful feeling. Price to entry is 10,000 kip for foreigners and 3,000 kip for Laos people.

I am not that knowledgeable about the temples in Vientiane but I did like visiting this one. Best known for the large number of statues of Buddha that are kept in the temple.

Old temple with 3000 kip for laos people and 10000 kip entry fee for foreigner.
Not much to see here.
It is forbidden to take picture inside the main sanctuary which i dont understand why. Not using camera flash should be more appropriate rather than forbid photo taking.

Wat Sisaket is a Holy place since, it is a very very old architecture and also included with Budda inside the temple and has the painting of the old cultures on the wall but, the officer are not allowed totake photis inside. This place has the 10,000kip entrance fee per person but, it is worth enough to visit. On the around area also has a lot of Budda inside the outer-wall. This is the First Wat was build in Vientianeincluded with ~100,000 Budda inside so, this place was former called (un-officially) as "Wat Hundred Thousand Budda".

The temple was grand and beautiful, and the best part was that it wasn't as jam-packed as those Thai temples in Bangkok as Vientiane is much less well-known and with the small flow of foreigners you can really have a good look around the place instead of just seeing the key bits for a few seconds and getting washed away by the tsunami of people.

Much more humble than other temples visited. Do ensure that adequate clothing is worn if you do wish to visit the temple, ie; cover shoulders and legs. There is a small entry fee to visit.

ancient temple reminiscent of chiang mai. as well as still in use, it is also an open air museum. beware of the tour busses, rain or shine, they arrive every few hours with a swarm of mostly disrespectful persons that briefly lay siege upon the sacred grounds and disrupt the tranquility - just wait about 30 minutes and they will quickly be gone and peace will return. vientiane, a main gateway to luang prabang and vang vieng, is becoming, like yangon myanmar, more and more developed with the charm of the old city vanishing with modern developments replacing or obstructing the feeling and view of it. you do not need a tour to enjoy the city and attractions, just relax and walk around.

Same ticket for both temples across from each other. 10,000 kips for foreigners. The main temple is quite small but worth to see the murals inside. Can't photograph inside the main temple.

Hilarious reviews here by people complaining about no-one speaking English in Vientiane. What exactly do people expect? If you want everyone to speak English then visit the UK - go to Laos to experience something else and Was Si Saket is a gorgeous temple worth checking out. Particularly loved the covered cloister with all the little nooks.

Why should you visit this place?
Best Answer: To waste your time. In fact my whole trip to Laos was such a waste and terrible experience. Most of people aroudn "may be humble" but they're cheat, fraud and they only intend to loot people around. Seldom you'd find anyone who speaks Englishi to a level you could understand (or even guess for that matter)

I won't go Laos again and won't recommend to anyone. Except for Pakse (the pickture you see for Laos at trip advisor is Pakse - not Vientiane - and that's 800Km from Vientiance)
