We had a very pleasant stay at Nam Hou guest house.it is a family business amd they are very friendly. We stayed in a bungalow rather simple but we had what we needed : hot water and a hamac.Very quiet place indeed. The only cons will be the bed not very comfy. It is a cheap place to stay in Nong Khiaw and very handy location.Lots of restaurants and tour agency around
I will strongly recommend to stay there,it is a great quality/price ratio
Basic place with friendly staff. Bungalows on river had great views. Internet was sometimes iffy (like many places in Laos). Beds were rather hard.
Comfortable but basic bamboo bungalows. Ours overlooked the river so we had lovely views and sunsets. Slightly more pricey than other places but only saw one other place with better views of river/mountains. Also more privacy. Free coffee and water. Would stay there again.
Very nice bungalow, warm water, AC and blankets
Comfortable bamboo hut by the river with a hammock :)
Theft Advisory
Some clothing had gone missing. I confronted the lady who at first pretended not to know what I was speaking of, then miraculously was able to retrieve from her house my clothes.
Also, she operates a laundry scam in which she charges double what is advertised. For my little bag of clothes weighing 1kg she wanted 18000kip. On seeing her weigh it it came to 1.3kg. But in weighing it myself it was 1kg. The scale has been manipulated plus she further inflates the cost from what her rigged scale shows.
Comforable bamboo hut by the river, hut+private bathroom+fan with mosquito net for 50,000kip in early october. Beautiful view and loved the hammock!
Nice bungalow on the side of the river, prices are negociable in low season.
We stayed in the bamboo riverside cottage. Simple, but nice bamboo cottage with attached bathroom (nice bathroom with hot shower), 60000 kip a night. Great view.
There are seven cottages along the small river close to its confluence with Ou river, another six cottages in the garden, plus three garden concrete bungalows.
Free cold and hot water, nescafe and lao tea.
Wifi available at the reception / garden (not riverside).
Not five star because of the surroundings in general, that could be betterthough I don't think there would be much better choice in Nong Khiaw.
