Be prepare to climb the stairs. Go early or you’ll really sweat. Very touristy. Well worth the climb once you get to the top.

Go early morning around 6am for the sunrise to avoid the crowds for the sunset. There is a fee to go up this hill, but you get a nice 360 view of the area

Walked in near museum and went up quickly. Easy walk up the steps. The temple at top unimpressive but walked down the other side. There we saw lots of stuff - many golden Buddha and even Buddha's foot print! Came out on market street just down from where we entered. Nice little walk with good view of city.

It is a steep walk to the top and the price is 20000kip which is not bad. The view is amazing ant it is a great experience. The status are really nice and worth picture taking. The story behind it is amazing. Lord Hanuman moved the mountain :) you must also enter the mini hidden cave it is quite nice

Really nice views but massive shame that its so crowded at sunset. So many people taking pictures with their phones in the air. You would need to arrive early to get a good spot.

Views of the sunset. Crowded and frustrating , arrive early to get somewhere to sit. To make the most of the views. It is an easy walk to the top. Relatively short, about 15 mins. With stops for the statues.

Great spot to view the town and Mekong river. They charge 20,000kip to go to the top, once you've already climbed up halfway many people selling birds in little cages asking you to buy them and set them free. DO NOT buy them, it will just encourage them to keep doing it. Instead, perform an act of social good by taking the platter of birds and setting them all free.

Stunning view of Luang Prabang province from the top. Requires a little climbing but the tracks are properly built stairs. People said that it's the best spot to catch the sunset but it could be too crowded, hence i decided to go there in mid afternoon when there's less crowds. Good choice.

There are also temples and religious statues along the way to the top. Entrance fee is 20,000kip per person.

Mount Phousi is a must visit when in Luang Prabhang. It can be seen from most parts of the town. The climb up is not hard. You would be able to see the neighbouring towns, mountains and the river. It is the best 360 degrees view of the town. There is quite a bit of history and mythology to read about on your way up. There is also a cool decommissioned french cannon right on top. Great place for photographs

It was a stunning view for sunset! I will say however, it is a very steep hill with lots of steps! Give yourself plenty of time to climb to the top, admiring the many Buddha's and other religious statues along the way!

Will be amazing view point if there in sunset time, were not thousands of tourists. It's not a big hill, and everybody gets easy to the top. Nice view around Luang Prabang and nice sunset. The entrance fee will cost you 20 000, - kip. The entry is from night market.

Nice little hike up to the top of the mountain. You won't stay long there, but good to look over Luang Prabang and the Mekong River. Great place to watch the sunset apparently (although we went during the day). It's not very big, so don't expect a ton of space

You need to buy the entrances ticket that cost 20,000 Kip. But you can access for the whole day by keeps the ticket with you. Recommended to go for the sunrise and sunset. Sunrise is less crowded, sunset will see a lot of head in front of you if you are not tall enough.

Best place for panoramic views of Luang Prabang and its picturesque verdant mountains. Good for either sunrise or sunset. The climb is not very difficult and the hilltop can be reached in 20 minutes from the entrance in front of the Royal Palace. There is one other entrance along the banks of the Nam Khan River. It hosts temples but are not as remarkable as the ones downtown.

The admission fee is quite a turn off, especially since the place does not look particularly well-maintained and does even offer any kind of conveniences, such as clean restrooms. They don’t even provide tickets for those who wish to come back on the same day. And then there’s the blatant request for donations at the temples. One is left wondering where all the money goes.

Worth the 20,000 kip fee! It's not to high to climb (stairs) and the view is breathtaking. Crowded during sunsets, quiet during sunrises so choose what you prefer Take some water with you because you can't buy food or drinks up there.
A must place to go to in LP.

Hard work to get to the top with two children, aged 9 and 11, but well worth it to see the sights and hear the sounds of LP.

We did not pay as we had a guide for the duration of our time in LP.

We purchased a couple of birds of an old lady and the children set them free.

It was a beautiful evening with spectacular views. After spending some time watching the sunset and the people going about their business on the rivers and in the town, we climbed down the other side and went to the night market.

Not bad. Good place to check out first to get a lay of the land. A little over 2 dollars for a ticket to get in. Lots of stairs, good view from the top.

Do not go up and down the same way, you will miss things.

Your map might say something about a cave up there. Technically there is a cave, but it is tiny with a few small statues in it.

I would travel to LP just to see this view again. Such a wide and sweeping panorama of Luang Prabang Valley and the Mekong River. If you have just arrived in LP, go here first to get familiarized with the town. Try and go when there are no crowds, maybe during some rain. The lookout area is small and can get over crowded very easily.

Amazing views of all city. In the top many Buddha and a little Pagoda. Is a very special and romantic place. You must be minimum healthy for up the top. Many steps and wet, be carefully you can slip. Highly place recommended. You mast pay a ticket.

Really nice view from the highest point in Luang Prabang town center. It is a tough enough climb to the top. You can really good sunset photos if you're willing to compete with hundreds of fellows tourists with the very same idea.

Mildly challenging climb in the March heat. Very good view of the surrounding area. 20,000 kipp to get a ticket to climb to the top. Right in the center of town so easy to get to.

Could not get enough of this place, so many views and perspectives, incredible energy! Some go there for sunrise, others for sunset.. we went in the afternoon for a less crowded experience. Follow the dragon into the silence & magnificence 🐉

Sunset viewing spot. Many people here for that, so recommend to go there earlier. In Feb, already nice viewing point was already occupied at 5pm, though the sunset was at 0630 pm

Scenic Mekong views. Must see. Worth to visit the ethnology centre on the way up or down. Also do not miss a walk along the hill on the city side of the mountain. Good place to observe the nature up close without many tourists around.
