Title : Disgusting behavior!
Due to an emergency surgery I had to cancel my accommodation with Sofitel Luang Prabang the day prior to arriving.
I liaised through Agoda who I had made the booking through and made mention of my intention to return to Sofitel Luang Prabang shortly after I had recovered from my surgery ~ 2 weeks.
A medical certificate was also supplied with details of the surgery and doctors advice on restricted movement.
I was very apologetic and requested that they waive their usual cancellation policy under the circumstances and I would look forward to visiting again shortly.
Sofitel Luang Prabang refused the cancellation reason and charged the full room cost as a no-show ~ USD340.00.
As a frequent traveler to Laos (every 90 days for visa purposes), Sofitel Luang Prabang is the ultimate loser in this shameful display of greed.

Very good hotel, very quiet. Strange feeling when arriving as the reception is a small wood house and we don't see the guest rooms. The rooms/villas are around an amazing garden, hidden from outside. As the hotel is a little bit far from the center, a shuttle is available (5' trip). Very good service.

This place is out of this world beautiful!!! Wake up in the beautiful, serene setting, have a refreshing swim in the pool, enjoy the time with the heart melting sweet bunnies hopping around, take your time for the most delightful breakfast with a wide selection of the best of western and local delicacies! Do not miss their rice congee, the noodle soups, their famous sausages and of course, the amazing coffee, croissants, fresh local fruit and mmmmmhhhbrownies❤️ Ask the lovely reception team or if you’re lucky and Raphael is around, to have a map ready for you with all amazing things to do, take a shuttle and explore, Kuangsi Falls, Luang Prabang with its day/night markets and traditions, the nearby villages, temples and if you enjoy doing something more meaningful, ask about the local projects for orphanages, BigBrotherMouse, etc.there’s plenty good to do. Spread the kindness. Finally after you had a lovely dinner in the fairytale setting, go enjoy the hot tub in your private garden and reminisce the sweet taste of the unique moments you experienced throughout the day. They also offer cooking classes which are so much fun and needless to say, delicious and memorable! Le Spa offers a wonderful treatment package, go let yourself spoiled! This hotel raises up to its 5 star awarding and goes beyond! Thank you dear Raphael, the Chef, the entire Team for your remarkable hospitality and flawless services!!!

You definitely don't want to miss staying at this hotel. Although out side the town centre, it is within walking distance.

Had such a great stay here with my two year old, Ines was an awesome organizer of all of the wonderful things you can do in LP (boats, elephants, temple wandering, delicious food, etc). The food at the hotel was really good, super laid back restaurant, perfect for little ones. Room was spacious, comfortable bed, nice private outdoor area, though the front did open up to the common pool, which could have been undesirable for some. The bunny was a huge hit. Only minor complaint was with some of the spa related stuff - we ordered a bath one night that was so scalding hot we had to redo it, we asked for a kids pedicure and they really just put some polish on (totally fine if it's not something they do, better to have just said so), and the massage beds are real hard.

Service excellent. Hassle free from check in to check out. Breakfast very good. Staffs were friendly and very helpful. Especially Golffy, Ines, Marie, Pookie and the other staffs who i cannot remember their names. If you are looking for a relaxing and quiet place to stay this is the hotel as it is quiet and spacious. Not touristy.

Lovely hotel, fantastic staff, great food, great service and they have 2 resident rabbits in the garden. Everything here was perfect. Thie Sofitel had the most comfortable bed and pillows of our entire trip. You can walk to town, they have bicycles or they will get you a tuk tuk. The breakfast is delicious, so nice to wake up to.

The rooms are amazing at the hotel. There is a amazing pool and very nice staff. The only thing that puts it down from a 5 star is that the breakfast buffet options is quite limited
