This place is a joke and the staff is really uncaring and unprofessional. The female staff member is only slightly less useless than her male counterpart, which isn’t saying much.
    1. We were checked into a $15/ night private room with shared bath. Little dirty and smelled of mould but no major problems - we aren’t picky or unreasonable people. When we turned on the A/C however, it made odd engine-spluttering noises, it spat out water, dirt, chunks of ice and weird smelling chemicals all over our bed and carpet, which ended up soaked and smelling strongly of chemicals and mould (see picture). When we told the front desk this, the woman was like oh ya that happens I’ll just change you to another room. It grossed me out to think that they just let people sleep in a room that is pumping out dirty air all night, not to mention I doubt the carpeting or the soaked mattress has ever been changed so there is just mould constantly rotting in that room. (Room 6A).
    2. We handed in our laundry at 8am on the first morning we were there, and were told to come back for it that night. We came back for it, and the man at the desk just smiled and said he didn’t know. Didn’t know what, I’m not sure. We returned the next morning, and the woman at the desk said she didn’t know if it was ready or not. I asked her how did she not know, and she said she just didn’t, smiled and walked away. Fine, whatever, we just re-wore dirty clothes and went out for the day, sure that the clothing would be ready at night (it was supposed to be less than 24hrs, same day service). We came back that night and asked the girl if we could please have our laundry, and again she said she wasn’t sure if it was ready, said she thought it was still wet. At this point we had reworn our dirty clothes for 2 days so my boyfriend went to where they did the laundry and just grabbed us the driest ones to at least have some clean clothes. Later that night the guy at the front desk pointed to a garbage bag on the ground of the lobby and said our stuff was ready. Inside we found a bag full of semi-damp crumpled clothes, not folded and not smelling clean, just damp, musty and smelling of dirt. (See pictures)
    3. Online they advertise bike rentals, and we inquired about them. The guy at the desk said “no bikes all broken”. We were like what?? We had just walked past a row of about 10 bikes, all of which looked brand new, to get to the lobby. He shook his head and said again, “all broken”. We walked outside to take a look at the bikes, and they looked fine — they totally worked. The guy followed us out and nervously tried to point out things that weren’t working on the bikes - he said one might have a flat tire, the other one’s chains weren’t good. My boyfriend rode one around the area, found it to be in perfect condition and the guy was like ok ok 20000kip for the day. We asked him where the lock was, and he said “no locks for bikes.” So then I asked him what if it gets stolen? He said then we have to pay for a new bike. I actually laughed out loud at this point and we walked away, giving up on the bikes.
    4. Despite this place being advertised as an adult-only hostel/guesthouse, we were woken up every morning to the sound of a screaming baby next door at like 6am. Not the baby’s fault at all, lol, but don’t advertise it to be adult only and then have families and young children stay when you have paper thin walls.
    5. Their window for breakfast was short, from 7-9 am. On three separate occasions we came downstairs between 7:30-8:30 to ask for breakfast and the guy would just kind of chuckle and say “No no not yet. No.” What do you mean not yet? We’re right in the middle of breakfast service and we’re being told to wait another 20 minutes to orderfor what? Also the guy just sat at his computer watching videos and then once the twenty minutes was up he got up and asked us for our order.
Overall weird place, terrible staff, dire cleanliness/health and hazard situation. That A/C unit is going to explode on someone soon I swear.

Such an authentic place, the staff is adorable, always attentive and the inner patio is a beautiful escape from the city !
However I'm super sad they had to paint all the walls in white, the pictures I've posted with the beautiful paintings are not accurate anymore. Everything is covered and it's such a shame they were not allowed to keep the art and the walls.. bloody law 😕

For your own sake don’t stay here, it is hell on earth. Hard beds with bugs running in the sheets dirty as well, mosquitoes nests in every room, I think sleeping on the dogs bed would be better, which is also what the one star is for, the puppy is adorable! Oh yeah the toilets are outside with Asian hornets flying about in them(google them). We stayed for about 2 hours then got a lucky escape

Worst hostel I've ever stayed at. Beds were rock hard, sheets dirty (bugs), floors dirty, no lock on door. Didn't feel safe leaving things here. Showers and toilets also filthy and only 2 of each shared by whole hostel.
    Avoid.

I had an awful experience at this hostel. We had a private room with no lock or locker in the room. We got robbed during our stay for about 400$US wich is terribly upsetting for a backpacker. Carpets and walls were dirty. The only good thing in the room was the bednet that was very usefull because it's full of mosquitoes. I have never seen dirtier bathrooms and toilets their full of hair and dirt. Any of the facilities are connected to the drain wich cause the bathrooms to fload. Not expensive but not worth the price.

Really sweet family staff with a cool, laid back vibe and a delicious, free, made to order breakfast. There were lots of mosquitos in the room and the bed wasn't very comfortable but it was a good price.

Great staff and decent breakfast! Got two lovely cats that has somewhat taken shelter here, the female is a bit nervous but friendly and the orange male is super friendly! Loves cuddles and kisses. The room was not bad, but a little dirty. The bathroom was a nightmare. You can see through the bottom half of the doorvery close to the Mekong River and the night market. Great stay for a decent price!

Nice place a bit far from center. Breakfast is simple but good, served between 7am and 9am and you can choose between eggs, French toasts or pancakes. Laundry service 10000kip per kilo. Lot of mosquitoes but no mosquito net in the room, can be fixed with mosquito repellent. Bathroom is nice with normal shower and rainy one. Hot water and good pressure.

This place has potential to be nice and cozy. But it looks more like a construction site. And the staff is just doing the amount of effort to keep it running, instead of trying to pimp it a little bit. And there are tons of mosquitos!
But it's the cheapest hostel to get in this town.

DON'T - don't stay here, don't buy bus tickets here just don't. I don't understand how this place is rated a 4. It was dirty, has bed bugs, ripped us off on bus tickets and the walls are paper thin. We left at 10:30pm and went somewhere else. I realize it was $22CAD so wasn't expecting much, just the basics. We've stayed in this price range across SEA for the past 4 months in Myanmar, Thailand and Laos we were provided a basic bug free bed and clean room. Unfortunately we had to come back to get our bus through them. The travel service they use is D&K which is also a rip off, don't use them either. We paid for VIP and after been driven around for an hour, pulled over and got a mid highway transfer to the local bus.

Booked a double room with private bathroom. When we arrived the girl at reception asked us to wait in the lobby while she prepared the room, this was almost an hour after the due check-in time. Reception was comfortable so I didn't mind too much. When we were shown to our room first impressions were good - spacious, bright, good air-con but the bathroom sink was literally hanging off the wall so much that I couldn't fill any water into it without it pouring straight out the other side!! I tried pushing it back into its correct position only for it to detach completely! Also, on closer inspection, the room seemed like it had been cleaned very superficially - bathroom hosed down with the shower, litter picked up and bin emptied, and used bed sheets remade. We asked to be moved because of the sink situation but they offered to fix it for us, though based on our delayed check-in time we declined and again asked to be moved which, after almost an hour wait they agreed to do.
Next room was the same, cleanliness-wise. We also asked for the dirty sheets to be changed, and they were happy to oblige, almost embarrassed that we noticed the hairs and the stains that they knew were there!!
On the plus side the staff seemed friendly, the WiFi was decent most of the time and the breakfast was edible.
I would recommend this place if all that you wanted was a roof over you head and a dirty bed to sleep in. However, I cannot recommend it if you are someone who expects the basics to be done, not upon request, but just done. For only a little extra cost you will get a massive improvement in overall quality in one of the nearby establishments.

Nice place. Friendly and helpful staff. Cheap beer ;-) AC in our room was great and bfast included is what we expected. Eggs and toast isn't hard to make haha Beds are like wooden blocks though. Not sure what is inside the mattress but it is hard as a rock! Also, I didn't like the fact the young cleaner was just throwing plastic bottles over the wall.

Nice backpacker. Quiet place to relax. A bit out of the centre but it's not a party backpacker. The Vietnamese staff is very friendly and helpful. Air conditioner in each room :)
