It is a beautiful place, but $10,- just to enter, where most of the buildings are not allowed to visit, is not really worth the money.

One of the few complexes in the Royal Palace open for tourists. Watch the nicely decorated walls and the silver floor which is unique. These Silver tiles are from Italian origin. You will also notice gold, silver and diamonds in this luxury nice pagoda, a must-see in Phnom Penh. Pity taking pictures is forbidden but understandable.

One of the 2 complexes in royal palace that opens for tourists. Wat Preah Keo Morakat is known as silver pagoda, the full of the precious objects including silver floors, golden status, emerald Buddha with diamonds.
It opens from 8:00am to 12:00pm and 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Ticket costs 10$ for the palace.

The 'Silver Pagoda' in Phnom Penh certainly is a highlight when visiting the capital of Cambodia. It's original name is 'Wat Ubosoth Rathanaram' and its also called 'Preah Vihear Preah Keo Morakot' short 'Wat Preah Keo' because it houses the so called 'Emerald Buddha of Cambodia'. The floor of the 'Silver Pagoda' is made out of 8 tons of silver. One can also see the 'Maitreya Buddha' which is decorated with 9584 diamonds. The 'Maitreya Buddha' is believed to be the successor of 'Gautama Buddha' who will achieve complete enlightenment and teach the pure dharma.

A MUST-to visit place in Phnom Penh. The Silver Pagoda located inside the Royal Place compound, and the entrance fee also included within the fee of Royal Place. All items that are displayed inside are real such as gold, silver, bronze etc. You have to know that there's a big Buddha statue with weight 90kg of gold surrounding by 2080 daimonds. And why naming the Silver Temple, even no monk inside? Because that place for king to behave the Buddha's. If you look to the ground inside the temple, you will see the real peace of 5329 silver tiles (1.125 kg per tile).

This is one of the greatest site that tourists shouldn't be missed when entering Royal Palace. Unlike ordinary pagoda, this ancient Buddhist temple comprises of many valuable Khmer national treasures such as gold Buddha statue, priceless Emerald Buddha statue etc. The floor is made using about 8 tons of silver tiles and some of the statue even consists of thousands of diamonds. Tourist must take off the shoes when entering the temple.
