The staff is wonderful. Bed pretty uncomfortable. Noisy construction work across the street, every morning as of Feb 2018.

Excellent well price modern rooms with balcony for $15. Didnt like the enterance where people congregated making it a bit embarrassing to bring a girl back to the room. A bit far from the action

Beware! I booked via Hostelworld & those photos are very deceptive. The place is actually very pokey & shabby. I can't believe this place had such a high rating. Originally booked 4 nights but changed this to 2 on seeing the premises. It was evening time, otherwise I would have searched elsewhere.
The guy on check in relied on me fishing out my email from Hostelworld & writing down the rate & paying upfront. It wasn't until I got to my room that I realised I hadn't deducted the deposit I had already paid online from the room rate & ended up paying twice. I went back down to explain and he was pretending not to understand me. I spent 20 minutes arguing with him and in the end had to threaten to call the police unless he gave me my deposit back.
The plug beside my bed didn't work, no bedside lamp, no housekeeping during the day. Internet was useless in my room - improved in the hallway but not my room. It was so bad I gave up & checked my emails at a cafe instead.
The second night I was in bed & a big beetle or cockroach walked right beside my head while I was playing with my phone lying sideways in bed! I jumped up & threw back the covers only to realise the sheets had long tears in them. I have pictures.
They offer no help booking tours - instead telling me to use these tuk tuk drivers waiting outside.
I didn't realise how bad an area this hostel is located until moving to another lovely area further south along the river. Me Mates Place is no place for a female traveller, with a bunch of local men congregating at the doorway & staring every time you want to pass.
On check out he made me climb the more than 60 steps to the 3rd floor to retrieve the tv remote control to retrieve my $10 deposit back.
Despicable place that I couldn't wait to get out of.

Great room for the price but there is no elevator. I have to bring lugage via stair.

Basic rooms but good for the price. Incredibly friendly staff that really went out of their way to help us and made our stay enjoyable.

Great place to stay in! Its nice and quiet. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. The dorm room is great for its price. 4 person a room with big comfy beds and each room has a toilet and a really hot and strong shower. They also provide big lockers in the room. Downstairs is a pooltable and restaurant. Food is more expensive as on the street but good quality.
