A towering 12-meter tall brick and laterite step-pyramid. Harshavarman I began construction or perhaps dedicated statues at the site in the early 10th century. It was later improved/restored by Rajendravarman II shortly after the capital was returned to Angkor from Koh Ker. According to inscriptions on the doorway, Rajendravarman II consecrated the temple with the installation of a golden Shiva image in 947AD. It may have also served as a funerary temple. Combine with a visit to the South Gate in the morning or Phnom Bakheng in the evening. Lighting is best in the morning.

If you want to find less tourist and more quite temple, then go here. There were no one when I was there so you can fully enjoy its beauty :) be careful on its stairs , it is very steep.

Non-touristic temple you can climb in a few minutes (but be careful and dont use the steps in the front, theyre the worst).
We went here for the sunset when the popular spots seemed to full and had this place to ourselves. Absolutely fantastic experience and alot of fun since theres noone around
Bring a flashlight to inspect the inside at the top and to safely climb down if it gets too dark.

From top to the bottom and from bottom to the top I saw it's nice. In the morning or afternoon I think all photos took are beautiful. Oh all dears you should try to the top. There you will look at a beautiful nirvana Buddha statue.
