Steep hiking ground around 2600 metres but worth it when you get to the top, hiking boots and lots of water is recommended, the scenery is beautiful, catching glances of zebras and antelopes, has a wide selection of shops at the base and a welcoming Kenya Wildlife Servive team. Charges vary from citizens to tourists but it is moderately priced. A KWS card and a national or school ID will come in handy at the entrance with a relative price reduction. Camping is offered and the security and environmental cleanliness is well maintained.

Serene environment with wildlife and a marvelous hiking trail. There are shops at the base to re-energize yourself after the hike.

Good hike go round to the peak and back in a day. It's a good place to visit for those who are just looking for a climbing experience that's not too tough and once you've reached the top then it's up to you to choose to walk around to the peak. Great fun.

A great place to explore nature. If you love hiking, this is the place to be. The joy fulfilled once you reach the top and can't imagine your journey downhill.

Nice but very crowded. Plastic bags and bottles everywhere. Challenging climb with amazing views!

Takes on average 4 hrs 30min to go up the mountain and trek the entire crater rim and back down including several 5minute stops. Reaching the summit (Kilele Ngamia) can be daunting but is doable.
