The food is very good but standards of cleanliness and general hygiene is seriously wanting.the wash rooms are pathetic and the hand washing area unkempt and extremely dirty. Most of the waiters are rude though there are one or two pleasant ones.

One of very few places in Nairobi where you can have a sumptuous, deliciously fulfilling Ethiopian cuisine experience. Just about everything on the menu is worth a try. Portions are generous and pricing is fair.

Hidden away in a backyard, you have to know where to find it as it doesn't look like much from the road.

Lot of private corners with tables, so it feels cozy.

Authentic Ethiopian food which was very tasteful.

I would have just like more guidance on the food before ordering as I never ate Ethiopian before. Someone who suggests what to taste.

Their veggie platter was yummy. We got a mix of fish and beef as the entrees, watch out for bones in the fish dish. The coffee ceremony was aesthetically pleasing, but I was not impressed with the espresso. It could be because it was late in the evening, but the cup had a bitter/bottom of the pot taste.

Not as impressive as I had heard. Staff became overwhelmed by the many guestshowever,the ood was great, big portions..ambience not as impressive.

Me and my wife have gone here many times.

The food is good and it is out of town feeling.

When you enter the drive is hard to find its not well marked. It's a peaceful place, nice to go to when you want a quiet meal away from the city.
Alright I have read the reviews below.

If you feel the waiter is rude tell the manager he will make sure the waiter treats you better.

If the waiter wraps your food wrong for any reason the manager finds out they will be hard on the waiter.

This restaurant has maintained quality for at least 15 years because the management does not play.

The food is Halal I am a Muslim and that has been answered so many times.

Yes the sink is a little way from the table I have legs and it gives a good chance for ladies to go and gossip away from the men.

Go with your wife and her best friend plus the best friends husband.
They will go wash their hands together talking and take a few minutes.

Yes the drive is hard to find another person commented on this below as a bad thing.

For me it's good after so many years of happy customers and good prices people still can't find the place to return 😂😂😂😂

So it stays quiet and keeps feeling like its not in the city.

The staff is friendly (and good looking ☺). Food is always great and quality is always consistent. I order pretty much the same thing all the time and they never get it wrong.

Extremely rude waiters,who say that if you don't want to come back it's fine.If you ask them for a take away they mix all the foodsones which u have already had in the plate and the one which you hadn't served.As a result you waste your money.Sat for 1.5 hrs and no one came to serve us. The second visit I asked for a aluminium foil to pack the food.They were unwilling to pack it for us,and refused to give enough aluminium foil for us to pack the food.Being petty they haven't or rather they don't care they have lost a loyal customer.Am never going there again no matter what.Pathetic is how I describe Habesha restaurant.

Food and atmosphere are amazing, but leaving 1 star because of the way management treats their staff. Our food was delivered wrong because of an error in the menu, but the server got blamed. I tried speaking with the manager telling him it was managements fault for having incorrect menus, but he didn’t care & said the server had to pay. Not wanting to put that on the server, I agreed to pay & had the manager promise to update all the menus so other servers wouldn’t get harmed in the future. 3 months later, the menu is still the same.

Management - take responsibility for your own issues and don’t make the servers pay for things that are your fault.

My first taste of proper Ethiopian food couldn't have been better. The injira with beef and fish with a side variety of lentils, beans and other vegetables is amazing here. Would definitely recommend for all travellers and locals.

This place was great. I was going to go to Abyssinia but it was too far away so I stopped here and was very happy. Delicious Ethiopian food, good prices, tons of food. I got the vegetarian platter, so good.

It was a very fun atmosphere but the food is kind of strange. Not bad just different. Lots of mosquitos outside is a big downside but not their fault. The fireplace is really awesome.
