You walk among the wild and get to see Zebras, giraffes in the wild and an array of birds. The island is in close proximity to Nairobi and offers a range of outlets you can enjoy in Naivasha.

Beautiful scenery. Freedom to walk where you wish and up to you about how close you would like to be with animals. It was definitely one of the highlights of our Kenya visit and would recommend without hesitation. We saw water bucks, giraffe, zebra, wilderbeest, buffalo, monkeys, numerous birds. An amazing experience to get up so close and observe wildlife. We didn't do it but the horse riding safari organized by sanctuary farm was highly recommended by friends.

    Great, serene place!
You can walk along the whole crescent till the end. There is a high density of animals (zebras, girrafes, deers, wildebeests grazing around) and also catch birds.

The island itself is marvelous and beautiful to see the animals in such a unique habitat. But be prepared to spend a lot of money, especially if you have non-residents in your party. It's also quite annoying to have to go to the main house and sit down and take time to pay and listen to un-wanted stories from the caretaker. There should also be a combination package of some sort where you can pay a lower amount to see the island AND take a boat ride. Paying an additional amount for a boat ride just seemed ridiculous considering the small amount of time we spent on the island.

I paid $30 to take a boat over and $30 at the island. Very cool experience walking around getting within 30 feet of most the animals. It took me about 2.5hrs to walk the island I did the whole loop. Not all of it had animals and I did it quite slowly.
