Good location but small rooms Clean and good service Nice rooftop onsen with a view of the town Breakfast menu is good
The staff is poor in english and the introduction by the staff upon arrival is inadequate.
The resturant offers local beef grill. However, with the poor ventilation, the resturant is hot and smoky. The english printout instructions for how to do the grill is also wrong. I followed the instruction and eventually being teased by the staff as doing it wrongly.
The wifi sucks as well.
Over priced, lot of communication problem for foreigners, some traps for charging you as you are not informed and only found that the terms as written in small prints.
Room was okay but very noisy at night due to workmen on train tracks right next to hotel. Unable to sleep so went down to reception at 2.30am to ask for a room on other side of hotel and staff member just said "Sorry but hotel is in bad location". I asked 3 times for him to look on computer for another room and 3 times he gave me same response as above and then he walked away. Onsen was nice. Lifts are very slow. Breakfast for Japanese only as with everything at this Hotel. Staff can be rude if you can't understand signs in Japanese only including name on outside of Hotel making it difficult to locate originally.
Very attractive Japanese style inn. Everyone speaks English. Very friendly and excellent service. Private baths are a bonus.
Very nice traditional Japanese hotel. Staff was very friendly. The room was comfortable although a bit too old fashioned for my taste. The breakfast is also Japanese style without many western options. There is a great public and private onsen. Nice option in Takayama. Staff is struggling to speak English and give you sightseeing tips. I also recommend to rent bycycles in a different cheaper place.
The hotel itself is a bit dated but with good maintenance, beautiful onsen on 13/F and the futon was so comfortable.
Great service and prices
Great Japanese inn. Friendly staff, trying their best to help. Beautiful onsen with a great look over the city and at the mountains.
Only a few minutes away from the train and bus station.
The historic hotel in Takayama. I love here for one day. I missed my key when I go to spa room. The clerk is nice to help me. They also introduce the Takayama for family trip.
Includes onsen is great. Awesome views. Close to the bus/train station. Very friendly people in the region.
