J-Hoppers was just what it said it was. A convenient hostel/Guest house, with clean shared toilets , bathroom and kitchen facility. Room was comfortable with Futons, Reception was welcoming. It was just what we needed for our stay. We were given all the necessary information when required. It is very close to the Bus station and the train station and the Post office right opposite, if you want to send those postcards out! J-Hoppers made our Takayama stay very memorable.

Great hostel! nice staff, helpful and dynamic, well-equipped kitchen, clean bathroom and showers. I slept in one of the shared room and the bunk beds are very wide (some of the widest I have seen in my travels), wide enough to put all your stuff next to you, included the backpack/suitcase. All beds had a curtain for privacy. Only downsides: I was sleeping on the 4th floor and the shower room is on the 1st. A bit annoying/weird to take the lift to go take a shower. Also it's not very design or pretty inside. The TV room/ game room was cosy! Overall a great place to stay in Takayama!!

Great hostel with great and friendly staffs. Just 5 minutes walk from JR Takayama train station. Reasonable price. Do make booking in advance to avoid disappointment.
