A little out of the way, but they have a shuttle to the train and the stay is lovely with an on site onsen!
Roomy ryokan convenient to the Hida Folk Village; building had seen better days but it was clean and staff were very helpful
The service is great. We were walked up to our room. The gentleman made a great attempt at speaking to us in English. The room is huge, larger than a standard American room. It's a shoeless place, but they provide slippers for guests. The price is well worth it for what you get. They also have wifi, and common areas, which includes a beautiful room with a fire place. If you're coming this way, it's a great place to book your stay.
Best Ryokan I have ever lived in with great service from the host! Also, there is a onsen here!😀 To add on, it's near the central area of takayama so don't worry of not being able to find places to eat for lunch and dinner.😊
Great traditional hotel, really feels like the traditonal ways of Japan. I would recommend the traditional diner there. Great food and experience
Wonderful place if you are looking for peace, courtesy and excellent service.
An enjoyable stay. Large room and nice people. The carpet in the public areas definitely needs replaced.
A few minutes outside Takayama itself, it was so peaceful and didn't give the idea of missing the action. It was a great way to relax. The room was beautifully simple and the manager is just so amazingly kind. It was a wonderful experience and definitely worth the stay.
Great room, great food, great service. The bear museum next door is quirky and funny, the folk village around the corner is amazing.
A lovely place to stay, away from the bustle if Takayama. The meals are excellent and the shared bathroom enticing. The tatami mats are not the most comfortable, but it's the authentic atmosphere you go there for.
