A traditional Japanese temple in the mountain. The bus heading back to Kyoto is in the late afternoon, so be careful about your schedule to catch the last bus back to the city.

Poco conosciuto ma secondo me da visitare. Ci si puo arrivare da Kyoto con solo 1 ora e mezza di viaggio inclusa la funivia da prendere. Potrete veramente passare una giornata in montagna dentro un villaggio buddista rimasto intatto dagli anni passati.

Great escape from the crowds of Kyoto. Instead of taking the cable car, I jumped off at Sakamoto station, walked to the base of Mt. Hiei and hiked to the top. Very nice area and hike to the top of Mt. Hiei.
