  You can stroll to Kiyomizu Temple and Kodaiji Temple. The room is clean and big enough for small family. They serve nice simple breakfast (Japanese or western) at the ground floor.
  In order to get to this hotel from Kyoto Station, you need to take the same crowded public bus (206) that everyone take to Kiyomizu Temple. So you might want to consider cab instead if you have many large luggage or when the queue for bus 206 is too long.
