This hotel was such a beautiful and amazing location. The rooms were spacious and the view was amazing. Everything was so lovely and the staff was very courteous. Very great for the price!
It is all about the location and service. We stayed at Hotel Granvia in Kyoto which is right next to the Kyoto station with an entrance from within the train station. We arrived by bullet train and transfer was seamless. Service from check in to helping us get around was ace. All inclusive breakfast was to die for. Plenty of selections and some amazing local cuisine made us come back for seconds. The Japanese curry with rice was my favorite. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone making the most out of their Kyoto trip.
Perfect location directly above Kyoto central train station; Books out very quickly for autumn leaves and cherry-blossom season so need to book well in advance (greater than 6 months!). Quiet, good-size clean rooms, lots of places to eat near by. If you can get a room with views toward Kyoto tower or the mountains to the south you can have great views, cheaper rooms tend to look into the station. Given the popularity and above a station can feel a little busy.
Hotel Granvia is located conveniently over one of the biggest JR stations in Kansai. It's perfect for when you're traveling on the bullet train, as your hotel is right above your station The rooms are beautiful, and the upper floors give a breathtaking view of Kyoto city (and a nice view out of the bathtub too!) The staff are incredibly helpful, polite, and overall just amazing. Most of the staff speak English as well, so for those who cannot speak Japanese, you do not have to worry. They also have a concierge desk for helping you find your way around, and great suggestions for places to eat.
Great, luxury hotel. Great location in Kyoto. Friendly, faultless staff and extremely helpful and professional concierge service. All breakfasts options are good, but I recommend the 15th floor restaurant. Rooms are spotless and modern.
A beautiful, modern, comfortable hotel conveniently located at Kyoto Station with easy access to local trains and Shinkansen. The moment we approached the front desk a porter took our bags, walked us to the check-in counter, and waited patiently before showing us to our room. The room itself was large with a great bed and bathroom. Pyjamas and slippers were available and we made use of the bar fridge to keep our daily free water bottle cold. We had a great stay here and I highly recommend this excellent hotel.
Surprisingly spacious room considered at the hub of the city (at the train station building). Food quality is good.
Amazing hotel! Perfectly located within Kyoto and beautiful views of the bustling Kyoto station and downtown area. Proximity to many shops and attractions. Le Temps breakfast buffet was great - be sure to try the croissants with the house made honey butter. The service and stay were delightful, if you are staying in Kyoto, the Granvia is a great option.
Great service, very clean, excellent buffet breakfast. Reasonable prices. Couldn't be closer to the train station and shopping.
I went to the bufet restaurant and enjoyed lunch bufet. A hotel staff announced some special meal and desert were ready.
Great hotel, very convent location right in the train station. Hotel room is clean and comfortable. Room space is pretty big as the price.
Kyoto is magical and the Granvia is fantastic. If you told me a top hotel would be at the train station I would have laughed, but this is Japan. The entire country has Great Hotels connected by Bullet Trains. Walk out of the posh room and take the escalator down and be on a bullet train within minutes of leaving the hotel. Genius.
This is a huge hotel, I felt like I was walking for miles before I got to my room! My room was very comfortable with a very nice bathroom & shower. The breakfast buffet was lovely, and one day I ordered room service which was very efficient and the food was great. Because my room was so far away from everything, it was very quiet, and had a great view of the Kyoto Tower.
