Beautiful hotel. Design uses Japanese elements. Staff is helpful and friendly. Everyone spoke English. The room was clean and the beds we're comfortable. They have water pillows, which were cool and kept your head and shoulders cooler. WiFi can be spotty depending on where you are in the hotel. Also our room lacked a iron and ironing board.

Amazing stay at a valued price. Bed was comfortable and it was in an amazing location. Close to shopping and great restaurants, and when I traveled away from the hotel, the best train lines were in walking distance. Also, the bar and bartenders were high class cocktail makers. Highly suggest to the traveler.

Beautiful hotel with a beautiful room and convenient location. It's surrounded by stores, close to a station, and there's a food hall just down the road. The facilities were clean and the staff was very helpful!

During my stay at this hotel, the staff has been very courteous and accommodating. We don't speak Japanese, so we had the staff book us a kaiseki restaurant. It was easy and painless because the staff is well versed in English. The rooms are also very nice. It's common in Japan for everything to be very small. However the rooms here were nice and spacious with plenty of outlets for your electronics. All in all I highly recommend this hotel. It's surprisingly high end for its price.

Great location, very central to shopping. Rooms are small but that's normal for Japan. My one and major complaint is that the service is very poor. I was running late for a tour and needed the hotel to make a call for me. I told them I was late for my 8am tour and to please let the tour guide know and gave them the phone number. The 3 receptionists looked at me like I was an alien and then started arguing with me about what tour I was going with and what time the group was leaving even though I had the itinerary with me. Finally they looked up my tour's information, informed me I was late, and then handed me an umbrella. It took another 10 minutes for them to finally call the tour company. We were able to get to the tour, but the experience at the hotel was altogether very stressful and completely unexpected of a hotel of this caliber. If not for this experience and rather consistent trouble with the receptionists, my stay here would have been perfect.

Good location and friendly staff. My room was quite small and overlooked a Burger King. Try to get a higher floor. Thankfully the windows were pretty well insulated and I couldn't hear the street noise below.

There were some minor language barriers when we tried to check-in. When we were checking in, they told us that our room wasn't ready, so we decided to go tour around the area, but when we got back the other staff couldn't find our room and luggage. Other than that, the room was average but kind of small. Quite a lot of restaurants and cafes in the area.

free upgrade to Premium Floor, at Corner room. The room is clean, mattress & pillows are wonderful. Pyjama is comfortable also.
Water pressure is excellent, & do enjoy the hot bath as well.
Location is excellent, no doubt to stay again & recommend to friends & family.

The best Japan hotel in Kyoto in my opinion
We booked 3 days there again this year after our good experience a few years back. Unfortunately my kid got sick and have cancel and delay the trip. Highly recommended for its location and service

Good location. Nice staff. The rooms are nice and clean. They also offer a 500 yen voucher for the hotel restaurant if you skip housekeeping for a day (not sure if this reward stacks for skipping multiple days). They bring you towels and stuff in a bag and leave it on your door handle. They just won't clean anything if you decide to skip the housekeeping. Overall nice stay.
