AMAZING COCKTAILS staff were so wonderful. Great atmosphere, it's so interesting to watch the bar staff make the drinks. Expect to pay ¥1500 for a cocktail, especially from their house list but it is so worth it. HIGHLY RECCOMEND THE TWISTED PEPPER. The bar is a bit small with limited seating but the bar staff know who is next in line for a seat but atmosphere is so great, even going to the bathroom was a fun experience.

Best cocktail bar in Kyoto. This place came highly recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint. We ended up going back the next night we loved it so much.
Drinks: Large and unique menu. They will help you choose if you don't know what you like but we loved everything we had.
Very unique and interesting vibe. The bartenders are super nice and will chat with you as much/little as you like.
Tip: This place fills up FAST! It opens at 8 and by 8:15 all the seats were taken both nights. Get there early unless you don't mind standing.

Great cocktails but there is almost no seating space and the hipster gimmick is already stale and tired. Also, if you're not a smoker you may find it a bit too much since ventilation isn't the best.
Again, I love the drinks and they should speak for themselves. The staff were great, but cramming people into "standing areas" which are no good and that silly hipster gimmick stuff ruins what would be a great place to drink.
Expect to spend around ¥1500 for a cocktail.response / report this review -

Fantastic spot. Come in early for seats. Get the Kyoto Gardens. Move to Kyoto to get this cocktail everynight.

High-class cocktails and very friendly crew. The Barkeepers doing a perfect job. The prices are justified for the quality. The menue offer some special drinks, which are inspired of the local culture. I totally recommend the Kyoto garden. It's one of the best cocktails I ever had. The mood is relaxed and the music fits to this. Thanks for the nice evening!

Literally stumbled into the coolest little bar in Kyoto. You’ll hear the music from the street so just follow that and make you’re way up the stairs to the bar.
It’s tiny, and very popular so expect to be crammed into wherever there’s standing room on the floor but that’s part of the fun. Great range of cocktails that are largely twists on old classics, all for around 1500 Yen.
Tip: The toilets are hidden behind the bookcase in the corner, that seemed to stump a few people.response / report this review -

Great vibe, fantastic bartenders and awesome cocktails however very small so not suitable for big groups! Try to get there at 8pm so you can score a seat. Loved my time there! Will be back

Super cool bar with the most delicious cocktails. Lively but intimate and with a magical/mysterious feel. There's nothing else like it in Kyoto. I've had pretty much all the cocktails on their menu and was incredibly impressed with every single one!

Simply the best bar I've ever been too. Magic! Everything about it was so detailed and thought through. Cocktails were absolutely delicious. I felt like a kid watching a magic show. Thank you so much for this experience x

Really cool bar. Walked in never having heard of it and loved everything about it. Awesome menu, tried many of the drinks and loved them all. Came in as strangers and left with hugs, the lads behind the bar were awesome. Do it! Will be back again for sure.

I had an incredible time here. The atmosphere was fantastic and the staff were super friendly and made the experience even better. There wasn't a drink I had that I didn't enjoy and the swing chairs made it even cozier. The menu is full of colourful cocktails and each have their own unique burst of flavour. In conversation with one of the bartenders, he mentioned he was a magician so at the end of the night upon paying our bill I asked him to do a magic trick and he didn't disappoint in the slightest. I will definitely be returning and recommending to anyone destined for kyoto.

Elaborately decorated bar run by a European guy in a top hat who looks like he's run away from the circus. Bartenders in bowlers serve creative original cocktails. Great fun and with drinks ¥1000-1500 it's not outrageously expensive.
Slight annoyances: its smoky (two out of three of the bartenders as well as several customers smoking while I was there), and despite their assertions that all the drinks were 'well balanced' I found them slightly too sweet.response / report this review
