The service is excellent. The staff will take initiatives to come forward to assist.
As the onsen is by rotational basis for different gender, you will need to stay two nights to enjoy both. Anyway, either onsen does not disappoint.
The breakfast area has an excellent view of the Beppu Seaview.
There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel, making it convenient to take a bus to visit the Hells (Jigoku). On the other hand, if you did not take up the dinner option or wish to eat outside the hotel, you will need to walk quite a distance to nearby eateries. Furthermore, the nearest convenient store is about 3 to 5 min away, quite far in Japan town.response / report this review -

Just went for the bath. It was devine and no one else was there. Huge outdoor and indoor baths. Great facilities!

Beppu, the town of Hell. the hotel is near the park, train station, free parking and room has mosquitos.

Overall it's worth staying in Beppu than in Yufuin. The hotel is 8-10 mins walk from the station, a large drugstore nearby. Take the bus from the hotel front to sea hell. Although I speak zero Japanese, still a satisfied experience.

The baths are magnificent and the opening hours extensive if you are a customer of the hotel.
We stayed only one night but have been able to try both due to the rotation between man and women.
We had booked the meal in our room and everything was delicious, the host was delightful.
Nobody really spoke english but I managed fine with my broken japanese and I think it would have been ok without it as everybody was really helpful.

Food, both dinner and breakfast, was exceptional. Service at the front was very professional. Indoor onsen was good, outdoor bath could be cleaner. Room smelled slightly of cigarettes.

サービスや温泉広くて良かった。彫り物を批判する訳ではありませんが小さい子どもや気になってしまう方が少なからず居ると思うので難しいかと思いますが配慮して頂けると有り難いです。

少し古いがキレイに掃除できていた。スタッフの対応も良いと思う。冬に宿泊しましたが、暖房の調整が難しく、睡眠時に部屋の中で寒暖の差が激しい。

Great food, both for dinner and breakfast. Friendly staff, we felt well treated. The Room was huge and the beds were comfortable. The onsen was great, large and spacious and a great place to soak.
