Nice ryokan in the heart of Tokyo, near Ueno and Akihabara, with plenty of stations within walking distance that cover about a dozen different lines. The place looks and feels old, but that's part of it's charm in a way, if you want a modern hotel then this isn't the place for you. A typical Japanese breakfast is always included, the room prices are very low considering you're next to some tourist-oriented locations and all sorts of amenities are included: anyukata for sleeping, bath sets and hot baths on the top floor, all for free
Cozy place for budget travelers. Good breakfast.
Non friendly, didn't want to help us book a bus ticket by phone. They tried to avoid helping us as much as they can. Don't recommend
Big and comfortable Japanese style room. The reception was perfect, and the onsen is available for men and women (separated). The one for men includes a sauna. Recommended. PS. The receptionist is a very kind woman that speaks good Spanish
The best Ryokan I've ever visited!
No small children, and free breakfast. (Children are allowed, but they rarely book here)
There is also free wifi, a very comfortable lounge and a tea cermony room.
Plus an outdoor bath on the 6:th floor and a balcony where you can enjoy the beautiful night sky.
Very good position in Ueno, confortable and lovely staff.
I love the history of this place, with its Tokagawa commemorative plaque out the front to the Showa decorative features. The rooms are beautiful and cozy, wish my house was like this! The staff are very helpful.
Very close to everything. The owners were very nice and spoke enough English that we had no trouble checking in or out as well as understanding where things were. The sento was small but a nice addition to the stay because it was pretty empty for most of it. Our suite was like a really comfortable small apartment with a TV, shower/bath, good size closet and a okay bedroom area.
Amazing hotel. wonderful staff. beautiful rooms. great bath. i stay here every year.
Nice little ryokan-hotel. To stay in a ryokan on our last leg ( 3 nights ) in Tokyo city was a pleasant surprise. Free parking ( needs reservation ) , free breakfast & public bath. Great combo. They have bento dinner from restaurant downstairs from 5pm to 8pm. 4 types to choose from all at 1500yen each. We stayed in Japanese Style Superior double corner unit 407. Not suitable for guests who finds sleeping on hard futon difficult and because of small toilet, big sized guests might have difficulty too though our room was big with separate sitting area and sleeping area. Downside was the smell of frying oil from the restaurant downstairs that seems to infiltrate the hotel rooms and almost everywhere. We had to open window to ventilate the room. It was a good location for us as we wanted to shop at Tokyo Kitchen Town Street : Kappabashi ( open hours 9am to 6pm )
