Good breakfast. Cramped spaces
Been done up a bit! Good place to stay!
I checked out by mistake a day early and they refused to reimburse me even though they had sold our beds already. It's very small and not that clean. Close to Nijo-jo but pretty far from the rest. Does not recommend.
Best thing about the hostel is the roof garden. You can see the mountains while having a beer after a long day of walking around. Everything else is great as well!
The room has bad air ventilation, the toilet is right beside the beds, so it's so awkward to pee at night. The shower room is horrible, old and dirty!! The lift is so old and slow too! The staircase to the rooms is outside, hence its cold if it's during winter season. The hostel is beside a main road and you can hear the noise of cars outside. No wonder they charge 1000yen deposit, because their facilities are so old and if something breaks, your deposit comes to play. They do not have a dryer, which is bad, if you don't want to hang your laundry outside. Guess you pay what you get. This place is only good for one-night stay, because the location is decent.
WORST EVER. It does not look like the clean rooms that you see in the pictures and I don't even think this place is safe stay. I don't know how old those pictures are. I already thought it was fishy that this place had another name and changed it. I feel that they were getting the bad reviews that they deserve to warn others but changed the name to fool new travelers. First when we walked in, we were greeted by a host and I knew something was wrong because it didn't look anything like the posted pictures. The showers are on the left side of the common room pretty open in sight. The host seemed worried as she walked us to the elevator. The elevator was far outdated and I'm not even sure if they get the elevator inspected. The elevator was crowded with old sheets and cleaning supplies. Once we got to our floor, there were white curtains down each side of the halls (looked like something out of a horror movie) into a very heavy stench room. One day, we were curious why there were curtains and looked behind them. It looked like a sweatshop or storage room. The bathroom was NEVER clean and it smells like urine that has been sitting there for years. The free wifi that they claimed never works!!! I honestly never experienced something so horrible like this. It's funny now because I remember meeting others ( a nice Korean traveler and some travelers from Europe) and was equally or more horrified by the rooms.PLEASE SPEND YOUR MONEY AND TIME SOMEWHERE ELSE. What is suppose to be a beautiful Kyoto during the cherry blossom season was ruined by this experience.

Very nice and cheap hostel. You'll get a free breakfast made of toasts and drinks. You can rent a bike for 500y and leave your luggage after checkout for 100y. Very price worthy
