Very good tendon place! Very good location for us to eat lunch as this is right near Beppu Kitahama bus center and the bus stop to the airports. We all had their most popular tendon meal set (750 yen one), and for the price the quality of the shrimp and vegetable tempuras were superb and tasty.
They also deserve this 5 star rating because we arrived there at 1:59pm and was about to close for their break (2-5pm closed), but they let us in as their last customers! Very glad that we were able to eat their tendon on our last day of the trip, thank you!
Restaurant is packed and tables given was tight for the six of us. Food was reasonably good.
Tendon is good, but the tempura could be more crispy. Could be quite crowded during lunchtime
Tradition restaurants. Good for tempura and others
One of the best Japanese restaurants in Japan in terms of pricing n quality
Inedible tempura that tastes like it's been sugared rather than salted, and slow service
This a great place to visit and to try their "on the spot" fried tempura!!
Chicken tempura with soya and tartar sauce (¥650), the restaurant's "soul" food, is delicious. Together with friendly staff and nice interior it's the place you shouldn't miss in Beppu.
They served very superb delicious tempura here. I had it for dinner and already craving for it.
We ate the Tendon here last year and loved it so much that we took a 7 hour trip by car to eat it again. However, this is our only day here and it's closed! Google lists it as open but for some reason it's closed even though it's not the new year's yet. We wasted our time even though we looked it up and it said it was open. This is extremely disappointing, and I'm rating it lower for inaccurately displaying days open. Probably won't be doing this again.
One of the best tempura ever. More details in captions within each photo
Great meals. They have english and korean menu. I've tried Sasimi set (costs 1200 yen, very reasonable). I bet you'll also love this restaurant. Try tendon too.
We had to call the waitress 5 times, and she kept ignoring us, helping new customers to their seats, taking other customers orders before ours when we asked first, etc. It was really rude. We wanted to order more because we weren't full, but because they ignored us we decided to leave early instead.
The tempura was pretty good, but the sashimi was not up to par. Have had better at cheaper costs too.
They need to respect non-Japanese customers more.
