The room was adequate considering the price, although the toilet was almost touching the wall! Awkward maneauving. The dinner (paid) was adequate but not outstanding. The breakfast was standard Jordanian fare. My major gripe was the bus from Petra to Wadi Rum. The person on the desk informed me it would pick me up. Then, upon waiting for the bus he told me it had broken down. Then the bus was waiting outside while myself and two others were waiting for a (more expensive) taxi instead. Unclear whether this was an oversight by the person on the desk or deliberate mishabdmish. But not happy.

Pay for what you get, budget hotel so you can't complain too much, maintainance needs to be done in the room and an actual door put on the bathroom rather than a shower curtain. Roof terrace is great though, amazing views onto the city. Staff are also helpful and will let you know how much to pay so you don't get ripped off.

The hotel is cheap and in a good location. The staff is nice and there is a great rooftop terrace. In the winter there's heating in the rooms.

Breakfast unfortunately not included and crappy bathroom "door".

Bad rating of only two stars because there were many bedbugs in our twin room. We both had several bites and found three bugs in our beds. Because of that we probably wouldn't go there again.

Simple place for a budget price, very friendly staff and good dinner and breakfast. The shower didn't work properly in our room and we didn't have a shower curtain and the sheets were not very clean, but overall it's a good budget hotel for travellers.

For the price, basic and old room, sheets were not very clean The bathroom was old and not working properly. Breakfast was minimal and not even included. Heating was good - we appreciated it. Overall not the best value.

Simple hotel with really nice staff.
If you're on a budget trip the Petra Gate Hotel is a good place to consider. The rooms a simple but clean.
The staff is really nice and helpful. Also you should consider to enjoy the dinner which is offered every evening and severed on the roof top lounge with a beautiful view over Wadi Mursa.

Nice, clean, simple, place for very economical price. English speaking front desk- the very kind, helpful, owner/ manager. Excellent laundry service, strong Wifi, and yummy Arabic breakfast. Good location at the top of the business district hill in Wadi Musa just a 15 minute walk down to the Petra entrance. Overall a very good value!!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Place is in a central distance, about 15 min crossroads uphill from the Petra Visitor center. Rooms are very basic and could use a little refurbishment.

Very friendly hotel, good for a solo female traveller. Great roof cafe with the most incredible view of Wadi Musa and Petra area for one of the best sunsets! The man running it, Nasser, is amazing and will do anything for you to help you. There didn't seem to be any dorm rooms though, as they were just twin rooms.

This place has a very nice view for sunset and staff is very friendly.
However the rooms are very basic with poor cleanliness. I had to shorten my stay here, i had to cancel my 2nd night booking and find another hotel for the same price.

Is a nice place. The night we arrived, the host gave us and extra discount. The rooms are ok for the price. Not too near from Petra entrance. About 5 minutes in car.

Dec2016, this place absolutely sucks. Toilet is broken, cold water, and there is only one other traveller here. No help for tours, staff guy was nice though. They bolt the door shut at 11pm. Wifi doesn't work. No place to hangout roof is closed. Stay at valentine inn. Location is great though. I've stayed in hundreds of hostels and this is by far the worst experience. Maybe because it is off season, but man this place sucks and is no fun. I think a private room would be ok but not for solo backpackers like me

The best place to stay in Petra! The people that run the place are extremely nice and attentive, the rooms are clean, the food is delicious, and the price is extremely fair! They have a great view of the city on their rooftop where you can sit back, relax, and watch the sun paint the sky with breathtaking colors as it sets behind the mountains. They also arranged a cab to pick us up at the Aqaba border and take us back the following day which saved us a ton of money.
If you are going to Petra, don't waste your time or money anywhere else, stay here and you won't be disappointed!
