Beautiful views. Very peaceful. Not real close to town but Miss Jennifer is more than happy to shuttle you to down to town and recommend points of interest.
Great views and comfy rooms, can't get much better than that. Located in Mobay, Emerald is a proper Bed and Breakfast.
Was my first trip to Jamaica and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Emerald View. Jennifer, Chris and Ms. Charm were very friendly and accommodating. The location is secluded in the hills and has a beautiful view in the morning looking out towards the ocean. The town of Greenwood, where Emerald is located, is placed nicely between Montego Bay and Falmouth so attractions and destinations are not far (15-20 min). The room was nice and clean. The A/C worked perfectly as well. Jennifer also upgraded my room (queen to king bed) for free.
A true gem! The hotel was charming and private, prefect for a lover's getaway. The breeze from our balcony was amazing, no need for a.c. (in December).
You won't get all of the perks of a major resort, however its worth the detour. Jennifer was very accommodating and welcoming; did wish they had room service and hot food on premise however all in all I'd go again!
Rooms are fully air condition with great views, friendly staff and everything you need for a relaxed vacation.
Emerald View Resort Villa is one of the best places you could stay if you're planning on being in Montego Bay, Falmouth, or the West side of Jamaica. Contrary to the more traditional, "touristy" hotel, Emerald View is a huge Bed & Breakfast located in the hills of Greenwood, in the Saint James parish. Jennifer and her staff did a tremendous job in making sure ALL of my needs were met, including an emergency trip to a doctor's office in Montego Bay on the first morning of my trip. Whether you're familiar with the island or not, Jennifer and the Emerald View employees, including the drivers, can advise you on where to go to do whatever you want, and I really do mean whatever you want *wink*.
Yes it does cost extra to get around and it's not near anything but it's a beautiful home and I would Definitely go back
The views were breathless. Everyone is so friendly. Definitely cant wait to book our next visit.
So this place is a money pit. First and foremost it's not near anything, no beaches, bars, etc. so you have to cab everywhere from it which runs you $20-$30 each time you go out. The driver that works at the hotel charges PER PERSON - so if you and another go somewhere it's $40 -$60 even if you share the same ride. If you have to stay here just walk down to the main road and hail a cab there, much cheaper. You'll have a hard time convincing cab drivers to drive you all the way back out to the hotel from Montego Bay, I sure did. None of them want to go that far out.
Breakfast is $16 which is also a little steep considering it's just eggs. Coffee? Water? $2 each, runs up quick.
Shower barely functioned, and this is the first time I've ever stayed in a hotel where they DIDN'T PROVIDE TOILET PAPER! I meanreally? I had to buy my own.
Nice staff, good view, but for what you end up paying you might as well get an all-inclusive down in Montego Bay. I won't be staying here again.
Hard to find. We had hot water, but friend in another room did not. The front gate was an issue, difficult to get in and out. Air conditioning was great and I like the refrigerator in the room
