Climbing the falls was amazing. Well worth the trip. Our guide was great. Although he was a photographer, he never once asked us to pose for him instead he took all the photos we wanted or he suggested using our cell phone. We tipped him at the end of course but he was so nice and accommodating. The beach there us quite nice as well. Vendor on the beach was the best for making deals. Only negative of our adventure was that you are channelled through a ton of vendors on your way out and they are very pushy. Opt to leave through the entrance and avoid them if you can. Places to grab snacks and they recently added a zip line.

Good fun, if you're not sure footed then take the stairs. Once you learn to stick your foot flat on the rock the current almost holds it in place for you. That being said the water current is quite strong and the pools you step in and out of have varying elevations rocks, sand build up etc., be cautious. We had to help a couple people down to the pools where the stairs lead them to the easy route. On the other hand if you're up for a climb it really ins't that difficult. Try to avoid a day when cruise ships are in town, because there are just bodies marching everywhere. Tight fitting good traction shoes are required, water shoes do help, however you are going to get sediment under your foot as you walk no matter what you do. The photographer and guides are awesome and have high energy. Also if you are afraid of holding hands with others, take the easy route. As you climb you are almost always holding on to someone in front and behind you, this is a team climb, no super heroes. Maybe you'll make a friend or two! Last note, anything you bring needs to be waterproof and secured to your body, if you need to let it go for half a second the river will swallow it. Enjoy!

I took the sky lyft from the bottom of the park to the top it was amazing. You get to see all kinds of views of the mountain and the water. At the top is a fun set of shops where you can sample food, coffee, and rum! The prices on all of these items are reasonable to. They also have live traditional music and dancing along with a pool, though it's very small. They have trails and a humming bird garden. Its really an amazing place, I wish I had seen the falls.

Well, this was one of the most amazing places I've ever been to. Skill level 3 of 3 if you're going to climb the falls from bottom to the top.
The rocks weren't really that slippery but some were harder to climb up than others. People of all skill levels should visit here though to view and step on to the chilly water. It was $20pp to get in and that gave us access to the beach with very warm water and the cool waterfall water. Honestly, amazing to walk in to the ocean from cool to hot feeling water. After walking up the falls we didn't explore anything after. It was tiring but so worth it.
The one thing I hated was how they had guys try to force themselves to be your guide. Just tell them to leave and figure the place out yourself. Use a locker at the top if you need a locker unless you want to walk back down and up after you're done going up the falls.
Do not book on your cruise. Walk out of the port area and in town. Try to get a full cab of people and it'll be WAY better price even if you don't negotiate. Our tour stopped anywhere we wanted too.response / report this review -

Dunn’s River falls was one of my favorite parts of Jamaica. After you walk in and head toward the bottom of the falls, you end up at the beach with the beautiful blue ocean in front of you. Then it’s time to climb up the falls. It was so much fun! If you think you’ll need a hand getting up some tough spots, a tour guide will help you. I found the climb to be fairly easy but there are a few tricky spots. It looked like other guests were enjoying themselves too. I’d highly recommend going to the falls! I think we spent about 2 hours there but you could probably fill half a day.

The falls was absolutely gorgeous. My mother is afraid of heights so she initially did not want to climb it. The tour guide who led the climb talked her into it, put her at the front of the line( they line you up and you hold hands to keep one another from falling), and helped her with climbing. I also stupidly brought my iPhone ( don’t bring your phones people it will get wet). The guide held my phone the entire climb to protect it and took photos/ videos of my mom and I , so we didn’t have to buy pics. I wish I could remember his name! To the older gentlemen, thank you for making this a wonderful experience and helping my mom. You made her whole vacation.
Yes there are shops at the end of the attraction when walking back to your bus/ taxi, but there are hagglers in many countries. They are not aggressive, just ignore them and continue walking out. Problem solved. Recommend for adventure seekers!response / report this review -

We went in 2014 and Jamaica was a stop on our cruise. After doing this excursion I have vowed never to go back to Jamaica. I have never been more annoyed or scared on any other excursion. The falls were an absolute joke that looked man-made. The guides hunted you down for their “tip” and the shops that they force you to go through are so aggressive that it scared me. The cab driver was a reckless and hated tourists. The whole time in his cab I was praying that I would make it back home to my kids. I was never more relieved to leave that Island!!! Never going back!!!!

If you've not tried the new Chukka Adventures zip line yet you're missing out on something.
Climbing the world famous falls is something that should be on everyones bucket list but taking a zip line ride down to the beach before you begin the climb makes it even better. Get the adrenaline pumping while you prepare for the climb; there's no better way.

It was AMAZING. R. Clarke was the best. I can't remember our photographer name but his Nick name was Peeping Tom He will keep you laughing.. Monique aka Shorty our guide was very down to earth and kept it 100%. Definitely if you visit Jamaica please there.

Great place to take the family. You are able to climb the falls with a guide, there are food places and souvenir shops inside the park. Of course the prices are higher than usual. There is also a water/beach front. There is no group discount rates, sadly.

Overall an enjoyable experience worth doing. The falls are pretty enough, but they look like they've had a lot of help to be the way they are. A lot of the 'rock' looks like poured cement. Maybe it's to keep it from deteriorating, but a lot of it that we walked on just didn't look natural.
The tours make it so everyone can make the climb so you end up holding hands with others in your group. While not the worst thing in the world, I like climbing on my own and this limits your mobility and of course the speed at which you can go, both in slowing you when you want to keep moving, and in forcing you to keep moving with the group when you would really like to just stop and enjoy a particular spot.
It was definitely refreshing to be in the water on a warm day, and it's very pretty where it comes out on the beach.
The top of the falls has an area with craft and snack vendors. That area would be nice if the vendors weren't so pushy. I actually didn't buy anything because I felt as if everyone was hollering at me to come to their shop, instead I just went passed all of them.
All in all I would still recommend that if you are in the vicinity of Ochos Rios, you will enjoy a visit to the falls.response / report this review -

The falls are beautiful! If you choose to climb them be prepared for a workout! You definitely need water shoes and a waterproof camera. Otherwise, they'll try to sell you a $40 DVD with photos and videos of you r climb. I found that price a bit high and also read other reviews that said the DVD's were blank. Overall, would recommend!

I loved climbing Dunn’s River Falls. The people were very nice and they have cute little shops that you can shop through before you leave, but be prepared to for everyone to ask you to go into their shops. I say if you don’t want the hassle, just leave at the regular exit at the end. The only thing that threw me off at the end was when another guy pulled us to the side asking us if we could tip our guide, but asked no one else.

Amazing surroundings and experience. I must do if you are in Jamaica. Our guide Morris was awesome. Definitely worth buying the DVD it’s worth every penny to record the memory. Cameras which are not water pro9f won’t survive. Smart phone users should purchase a special waterproof case. Water shoes essential. You can buy or rent these both options for a nominal value.

Loved every minute of this excursion. Beautiful surroundings and lots of fun making your way up the falls. Be careful though if your not good in water as can be dangerous and slippery. Ask staff where the falls start as it is not very well signposted and beware of people trying to sell you gifts left right and centre.

I went to Dunn's River Falls on cruise ship day. It was very crowded. I recommend going after 2 pm. when most of the cruise ship tours have left for a less crowded experience. We took about 45 minutes to climb the falls. The water is great, very cool but there are sections where it does get rough to navigate. There are also some rocks that are slippery. They try to keep them clean of moss but there are still are few slippery spots. They have guides to help you up the falls but you can climb on your own, it's best to follow behind the guides though😜 overall it's a must do whether you're a local or visitor to the island. My kids loved it, my legs not so much.

Amazing adventure!! You are blown away by this natural mineral waterfall rushing down to greet you with brisk,cold and refreshing water.You have a excellent climbing Instructor and we create a human chain one helping another.THEY VIDEO. Tape your experience!! Whether you climb the falls or not they provide a walkway that overlook the entire falls.Attire for this event is a must.water shoes a towel and wear something flexible like a bathing suit .We can't wait to do it again!!!!

As a visitor this is a place you must visit and climb the falls but be careful it's very slippery. I would recommend wearing water shoes! Totally worth the price and there is also a beach. Been here a couple times. Took an all inclusive drinks cruise around the bay, which also included coming off the boat and climbing the falls. Excellent experience. Totally worth it!

This is a beautiful place to visit. There is a small beach before going the falls itself, where anyone can just lay out there, enjoy the sun and ocean view. Definitely want to go to Falls, obviously, in something you can get wet in (bathing suit + water shoes). You are climbing on rocks, so whatever you feel most comfortable climbing in, definitely aim for that but the rocks are submerged in water, so I saw people wearing crocks which they said were very comfortable. I wore water shoes and I was fine.
You much starting with your tour guide and walking hand in hand with your group, and can separate as your group goes up, and you can go up at your pace. Definitely bring a WATER proof camera, you do NOT want to miss taking pictures w\ amazing views. If I go back to Jamaica, I will definitely bring a better quality camera.
If I am not mistaken, you can only go through the falls once. Once in a lifetime experience, that anybody can enjoy.
If you go with kids, you can use your judgement if you feel the climbing is to much for them, but in my opinion a kid maybe 7+ and older, can do it. But again, I'm sure they are exceptions.response / report this review -

A natural attraction not to forget. Thanks to my friends from Jamaica for inviting me to this place, unique in the Caribbean. A river that falls in the form of steps. The fun is climbing the steep. The water is as cold as a freezer. The beach where the river flows is beautiful, a spectacular view and the tourist options are at the hand. An unforgettable experience.

Beautiful scenery. You are able to get both a river and beach experience in one. The beach is small however so if you are keen on relaxing on the beach its better to go early in the morning. By afternoon it usually gets full. Lockers are available to keep your belongings safe so that is a big plus. Bathroom and changing areas are clean. Overall good place for the whole family. I took off one star because of the size of the beach.

It's a great place to see and visit, but beware of the little shopping area there because their very aggressive. They try to offer you "free items but when you take it they ask you to make a donation which is pretty much you buying the item lol. It's a great place to visit and take the kids cause it's like a many water park but don't expect to much cause you aren't in the states. Be sure to bring a swimsuit, water shoes, and be prepared to get in a workout at the waterfall! Depending on your guide you also learn more about the culture. Safe travel! :)

Did this with my family (two kids 6 and 10) and it was an absolutely blast. We took a catamaran from the Riu and had a blast. The guides are phenomenal and definitely take you on the best path for your group. Make sure you wear good waterproof shoes with grip. The rushing water can be slippery at times but nothing too bad. As long as you have decent balance and can climb up stairs without any issues you'll be fine. Will definitely be doing this again if we come visit.

So much fun! Booked an excursion through Royal Caribbean cruise line and also went to dolphin cove for their dolphin swim which was very fun also. The climb was easy but sometimes slippery and big steps up or down. As long as you don't have knee problems or bad balance you should be fine. Worth every penny. Our guide warned us about the salespeople as you leave, he said ignore them as much as possible because even if you give your name they will make you something and guilt you into buying it. They are persistent but we made it through without a problem. It was so beautiful. 900 feet never felt so good or easy, I felt like I could've gone 3 more times!

Climb Dunns River Falls is a must do for everybody!!! It is $20 for entry and if you don't have your own wet shoes they sell them for $10 in the Jamaican flag colours (I saw it as an extra souvenir). It's lovely because it is a thrilling experience climbing the waterfall and everybody helps each other. The unity is amazing. I can't wait to go back and try this again. THANK YOU!

It's funny when I look back at the cost to go in. US $20 is a bit much for entry for access only. The falls and beach area is nice and clean. The gift shop, guides, activities and food is beyond reasonable . If your on holiday, the prices won't matter much, you'll be drunk from the sunshine and a good time. Definitely worth the trip.

Dunns River was the most fun activity I did on my holiday. I have been to Jamaica every 3 years since I was little and I have climbed Dunns before and it never gets boring. Each guide you have takes you on a different experience and it's so beautiful and challeging. If you're lucky you will make friends with your group and have photos to share. Don't visit the island and not go to Dunns. It's worth the trip. Shout out to Troy my guide who was dope all the way and made it super fun.
