First visited last year and loved it. The food is excellent. On my return visit recently, I couldn't help but feel that tourists get treated a bit differently in here than locals. Bread wasn't brought to our table but was to neighbouring tables and the service was very rushed as though they were trying to get us in and out as quickly as possible. This is all despite the fact that I tried to order and speak to the waiters in Italian.

Maybe I was being over-sensitive, but I've traveled all over Italy and certainly didn't get this feeling at any other restaurants in Bologna.

Customers smoke 20+ cigarettes next to you making it disgusting. Table behind smoked 3 Cuban cigars. Horrible. Great food spoiled by chain smoking. Will never go back, despite brilliant food. This the same now across outside restaurants.

Was told to try a pizza in Italy so read a few reviews and decided to go to Scalinatella. The pizzas were amazing and as described, service could of been a little better but it was busy and was adequate so still giving a 5 star for the food. Definitely value for money as well. Definitely recommend this place

Food is amazing. I was there for a tradeshow and I was lucky to find a space to eat. Pizza is fantastic, I had a light salad and some wine. Perfect. Price was good and atmosphere light and casual. Highly recommend the place for a simple night out.
