Not sure what all the buzz is about, the meal was fairly expensive, the service rude at times and the atmosphere lacking. Ate in the wine cellar that was very small, crowded, and very brightly lit. The soundtrack played was 90s songs like Sweet child of mine, Whitney Houston etc. Food was pretty good, but not that different than what you can get anywhere in Italy, the pasta we got was absurdly Al dente so if that is not your preference best to ask for more cooked. Wine list is extensive with prices between 25-350, waiter was not helpful in choosing.

A multi awarded restaurant that you need a reservation at least one day in advance in order to secure a table. A traditional Italian trattoria with big menu and a good variety of wines. I liked a lot the cheese and ham variety. The pasta is typical Italian but nothing special (past with tomato sauce and fried cubes of pork). The beef burger not something special in compare with the typical American burgers someone can find in other restaurants. Actually all bergers in Rome lack of salt as the meat is pure beef. Quite expensive as we paid €85 as couple with just one glass of wine.

Everything is super delicious. We ate in the basement surrounded by thousands bottles of wine. It was really awesome. Finally, the tiramisu is to die for.

When a place is this well-known yet still features more locals than foreigners it means it is something special. It's upscale yet casual and features four or five of the best tasting classic Roman pasta dishes that the city has to offerwhich is saying a lot!
They have a cool, modern coffee shop and winebar next-door that's a great place to wait until your table is ready.
Then you may have to decide whether you opt for the quiet wine filled shelves and close dining by heading downstairs or staying in the more frantic upstairs counter and bar areas. Choose your scene wisely!response / report this review -

Probably one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Italy. Their Carbonara is simply magnificent. They have an outstanding wine menu, which can be a little overwhelming at first but if you ask for help, they’ll point to you the right page. It’s literally a book with more than 100 pages. Ask to sit in the wine cellar, it’s so cool downstairs. The cannoli was amazing too. Highly recommend. I would honestly go back if I could.

Delicious food and great service. Try the homemade foie, the burrata with sun-dried tomatoes, the meatballs and the penne pasta with 3 types of parmigian cheese

Pricey but good. The cured meats and cheeses are awesome. Pastas are great too. Service was very accommodating and spoke English.

Italy's apparent simplicity combined to preciously good ingredients make for quite an enjoyable experience. Both refined and a pleasure to the palate. Don't miss out on this one. The wine list in itself is incredible. Large and beautiful. Comes at a price, but it was absolutely fair given the quality.
