One of the Most Gorgeous Structures I've ever seen. A Real Beauty located on the meandering River Arno through Lovely Florence. Ponte Vecchio is charming and classy. A must -see😍😍😍
Beautiful and historic. Around Christmas time they really go all out and it feels almost magical!
I would highly recommend going here later in the evening any time of the year. Very romantic ❤️
You can either love the place or not love the place. The place is definitely an attraction for ladies on two fronts: the beauty of the jewellery present there which are truly works of art. You need to understand and see each shop before you decide to buy. The second front is the history of the place. The history and the format beauty of the place is something to know. Men, who are not much interested in the art and jewellery, can spend time with the history itself. There are various restaurants around the place serving authentic Italian food.
It is true that you can find just jewelry stores on this bridge, but that didn't bothered me, I enjoyed the day and beautiful weather and the best ice cream in the world that you can find there on every corner! Also took some amazing photos because the view on each sides of the bridge is absolutely crazy!
Medieval bridge once used as a fish and meat market. The Medici build a private walkway through it and since it smelled from the market transformed it into a market for selling gold and jewelry. It is now a iconic bridge in Florence where gold and jewelry is still sold as well as a romantic place where there is always a love performer at night singing love songs. Very romantic location!
Nice bridge. Dirty river. Lots of jewellery shops that you probably won't go inside or buy anything from on your trip. Good access to other side of town.
In the world, there are three other market bridges similar to the Ponte Vecchio Bridge.. These are the Osma Bridge in the Lovech city of Bulgaria, the Irgandi Bridge in Bursa, Turkey, and the Rialto Bridge in Venice, Italy.
Simply a must see when visiting Florence. Especially in the evening it's fun when musicians play their songs.
For photography fans I recommend to take pictures of it from the bridges north and south of it.
It would be very easy to give this a 5-star rating but at the end of the day it's nothing more than a bridge with a lot of jewelry stores on it. If you are in Florence you absolutely should stop by and see it since it is so important but practically it's nothing more than a bridge to get to the other side of the river. That said the history of the bridge is actually quite interesting and something you should read up on before visiting.
If you love jewelry shopping, the Ponte Vecchio is THE place to visit while in Florence. The jewelry shops line the bridge from one end to the other on both sides. You'll find every type of jewelry from gold to silver to rose gold. From cameos to modern jewelry and from famous name brands such as Cartier to lesser known and more affordable brands. The bridge itself is the last remaining medieval bridge in the world. In the center you can stop for a photo opportunity and to admire other bridges along the Arno river. The bridge has been rebuilt three times with the original dating back to ancient Rome. It even survived WWII. It's a wonderful shopping experience on a beautiful historic bridge. If you're in Florence you should definitely make the time to visit.
