Rooms are cozy, comfortable, and have very little road noise. The room and bathroom were immaculate, with lots of little conveniences and plenty of towels. Bathroom has a bidet, room has a mini fridge holed away in the desk, and there is a safe in the coat closet. The staff is very accommodating - it's clear that they want you to have a nice stay. Breakfast was light and delicious. The hotel is located close to some wonderful restaurants/bars and is within walking distance of several key tourist attractions (Colosseum, Pantheon, Spanish Steps, etc.). I loved this hotel - I would definitely stay again.

My husband and I stayed here almost 10 years ago on our honeymoon. I don't remember how I chose this hotel, but I'm so glad I did and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The hotel staff is professional and friendly and the rooms are clean and charming. And if you're looking for something with a substantial breakfast, you will be hard-pressed to find it anywhere else in Rome, but here, as large breakfasts are not typical in Italy. The spread was amazing, filling, but healthier than our American breakfasts. The location is closer to the outskirts of the city, but I liked it because it was close to the train station (for easy traveling) and just next to Santa Maria Maggiore. We will never stay anywhere else when we are in Rome.

Clean old rooms, good services. The rooms are small but reasonable, the minibar is full with all sorts of stuff, but you have to pay for everything. You have to pay city tax of 6 euros per person per night. The happy hour is good for someone who likes to drink, 3p-6p for 5 euros. Approx. 20 minutes walk to Major attractions.

The hotel is a refurbished 19th century townhouse which retains a lot of the old style. It is spotlessly clean, the staff are friendly and very helpful, and breakfast is a pleasure (especially given the views from the rooftop dining area). The bathrooms are beginning to show their age and do need some maintenance (water tends to "escape" from the bath during showers because the glass shower panel, at least in our room, wasn't completely sealed).
The hotel is also just a 5 minute walk from the Termini bus, train and metro station, and only about 15 minutes walk from the Colosseum.
Overall a very pleasant place to stay, and convenient for seeing almost everything in Rome on foot (if you don't mind walking - and since there are treasures hidden around just about every corner (literally!), it's well worth taking the time to walk between the major attractions.response / report this review -

We had a room overlooked Santa Maria Maggiore and we arrive at a time that managed Pope Francis came to bless the church and people. It was very beautiful watching the blessing from our room and seeing Pope Francis. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the rooftop restaurant and sky deck bar are very nice. The staff are knowledgeable and friendlyrecommend the hotel.

Great location with a very nice view from the rooftop garden. Upon check-in we received a "free upgrade" to an executive room. In no way does this feel premium in any way as the room is quite old. Nevertheless good staff.

Hotel overall is quite nice. Maybe somebody would say it needs refurbishment but I think it's part of Art deco style part of Rome spirit. Everything in hotel is in working order room was clean with a great view on basilica and square. Room was very well soundproofed and well designed it had actual tapestries not a wallpaper which I have not seen anywhere else before. Breakfast was good and tasty. Only two negative points aircon wasn't working and matrace was fairly hard. Also I found it weird that you can't bring your food and drink in room apparently so that hotel can sell stuff from mini bar. All in all 4 out of 5.

If you come here, make sure to not leave your baggage unattended with the staff. We had an employee take our bags to the room, we had four and only three made it to the room. He insisted that we only gave him three, when we knew for certain that we have just taken our four bags from the airport. Nothing that we could do about it, as it was our word against his. I was with my family and I wasn't ready to start a heavy discussion with them. The staff was denying, and distant. The rooms smelled odd and many areas of our "family sized" bedroom were locked, even though we paid for a kitchen , which was locked, they never gave the key to us. They had stray cats running around the facility, and the movement of baggage is very inconvenient. We had to carry a couple luggages up FOUR FLIGHTS OF STAIRS. Not only that, but this hotel has a creepy vibe to it. Never come to this hotel!
