I didn't have a terrible experience here, but the most positive thing that I can say about it is that it was just OK. If you're happy with an OK meal then you can go somewhere cheaper.

Wonderful place to stay. Rooms are quiet and comfortables, with a wonderful view on the countryside.
The hotel has a rooftop with a stunning view on the San gimignano towers, I could have stayed there for the whole night!

Awesome food. Loved the pate and their pasta. The pasta with saffron sauce as well as their tortelli with artichoke and truffles we're amazing.

Nice location. Meat I ordered was very chewy but alright. People were friendly. Desert looked great. Would recommend if you don't plan on ordering meat.

This review is of the restaurant. It's "Eh". The service was excellent, the house wine was good, but the food was barely edible. The meat that my husband ordered looked great, but was super chewy and the purple potatoes were completely raw. They gave us a free pasta on the house when they noticed we're not crazy about our food, and that was better, but not great. There's not much of a view from the restaurant. We thought we can oversee the valley to the west as the sun set, but it's just a court and you can see the towers.

Recommended if you're looking for something a bit nicer away from the main tourist squares and streets, or a bit more romantic. Basically eating in a garden under the stars. Terrific food, wine and service.
