Beautiful old Montessori

A very unpleasant experience. We followed signs for the restaurant, ordered refreshments and were accused of lying that we were hotel guests. Charged 10 euros for the worst coffee we've tasted in Italy and a small bottle of water. Very unwelcoming.

Stunning View of San Gimignano, Hotel La Collegiata it's an incredible mansion. The dinner was awesome with local products declined in a gourmet way.

A fantastic experience. Classy.
Location: perfect, on a hill, overlooking San Gimignano, which is about a km away, quiet, lots of greenery, superb view
Facilities: great, good pool area with bar, small wine bar, study, lounge, restaurant, great seating areas everywhere
Food: only had breakfast and lunch, both very good, plenty of choice
Staff: outstanding: professional, polite, accommodating, exemplary
A well-managed place!
Areas for improvement:
1) It'd be nice if the study, wine bar and lounge were air-conditioned as it gets rather hot during the day, making it difficult to enjoy those areas. Rooms have AC.
2) Since it is a quiet, tranquil, somewhat secluded place which enforces this, it'd be nice if families with kids were not allowed to stay there. This place is perfect for couples or adults only. The pool rules do not allow noise, play equipment in the pool, jumping in, splashing---love it.
Being a seasoned traveler, I cannot say that I would go back to a lot of the same hotels, but I would to this one. Highly recommended for classy people who want some r and r.response / report this review -
