I would simply describe Hotel Villa Schuler in Taormina as a complete gem! From my first moment of email contact with the owner, Mr. Gerhard Schuler, my experiences were professional, prompt and with a personal touch. That did not change once my wife and I arrived at this historic spot in the beautiful city of Taormina. We were kindly greeted, our accommodations were great, the morning breakfasts on the rooftop deck were fabulous and the location could not have been better as it was just one street below Umberto where all the main attractions are. However, being that close to all the activity did not infringe on our privacy at all. We stayed in the garden suite which was very private and comfortable. Gerhard and his staff were always there to answer questions, make suggestions for places to go, to eat, to golf, wineries to visit or simply there for conversation. Never once did we get the impression that they didn't have time for us.
Taormina is a very special place and Villa Schuler is as well. The history of the property and what they have been through to keep this property in the family is amazing to say the least. Anyone who is looking for a fabulous spot to spend some time in Taormina will be extremely glad that they chose Villa Schuler!
Stayed there for two nights. Great hotel with competent staff, great location in walking distance to the main Corso Umberto. Has a garage which is very important if you arrive with a rental car. Fantastic view on to the Etna from the roof terrace.
Ocean view hotel.
Every aspect of our stay at Hotel Villa Schuler was amazing! The location of the hotel was perfect for visiting Taormina while providing sufficient distance from any noise along the main street. The staff were extremely kind and courteous from check-in to checkout. The breakfast was served to you on a beautiful patio overlooking the bay below. The croissants were amazing and the fruits were fresh. They also provide gluten free items for people with dietary restrictions. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The air conditioning in the room worked great when we needed it. We didn't need wifi, but it was available in our room. The entire hotel was modernized and clean. This hotel is at the top of our list for future visits. The gardens are a short walk away and the amphitheater was not to far of a stroll either. After walking through the town all day, it was wonderful to walk down to our hotel rather than hike up the mountain further. Our evening here was the perfect way to end our stay in Taormina.
Very nice location. Breakfast included and parking (which was a bonus for us). Breathtaking views from the room and veranda. We got a last minute deal so made it even sweater.
100 m from center of old Taormin realy nice hotel with parking and exelent staf
Lovely clean spacious room overlooking the garden and Etna. Really comfy bed. The staff were extremely helpful and couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. Not the cheapest place we stayed in sicily, but would recommend highly nonetheless.
