Well run and good walkable location for taormina sites although in October grounds and pool post midday in the shade.

We loved this place! The rooms are a bit dated, but comfortable, and the food, service and amenities more than make up for that. The pool is gorgeous (although nearly 200 steps down from the hotel!) and the restaurant/terrace at night has great views of the entire coast. Would definitely go back.

The hotel is on the edge of the town of Taormina, the the local bus depot. The hotel is holding on to a fading grandeur, but the rooms are acceptable and clean - if a little dated. The food is fine - similar in cost/quality to the restaurants in the town. There is an outdoor swimming pool - cold in October and there is a small snack bar doing pizza and pasta in the afternoon. The lower terraces, where the pool is is only accessible by steps, lots and lots of steps. Comsumables in the room, tea and cofee can be replaced for a fee, or there are some small mini markets nearby. Overall it is a pleasent enough place to stay but you will have to do lots of walking.

We visited years ago, and had a wonderful relaxing time. You can easily walk into town. The view is spectacular, but these pictures hardly do it justice.

The lady who was claiming to be the owner of the hotel was extremely abrupt and shouting at our guests for not letting them know 24hours in advance that they would be coming to have a drink with us. After listening to her shout for about 20/30 minutes she then said where are your passports which our guests was not carrying on them as they didn't realise they would require then she then got very loud very quickly we ended up being so embarrassed and decided to go out for our drinks instead as she was threatening to call the police on them and us. Rooms are not big enough, not enough plug sockets and I cannot stress how many steps to go up and down from the pool to the hotel rooms.

Service here was great, with everyone speaking pretty good English. Room was nice, though the beds are a little hard and the pillows (which you only get 1) are not very good.
