3rd Hotel of my 10 day trip to Sicily in September 2017 and by far the worst hotel of my stay. As I chose this hotel it started with 5 stars but lost 3 in just the 4 days I was a guest. This is why : -
1 star lost because the hotel advertises dinner overlooking the beach but of the 4 days i was here we ate at the restaurant in the main building (no beach view) due to private parties.
1 star lost because you are a little out of the way which is fine if there is something to do but the Caparena has one bar, adjacent to reception, that isn't staffed meaning that unless you go to Taormina (a good 10 minute drive) there is nothing to do here after 9pm unless you want to go to the nightclub (see below)
1 star lost because of the nightclub. This is a 4 star resort where the average guest age I would suggest is about 40/45 though some families also and why anyone would co locate a nightclub that plays house, drum and bass, grime music etc. with such a customer demographic baffles me. Absolutely no way to get a wink of sleep before 3am on Friday or Saturday night.
On the plus side the food was good and the waiting staff friendly (reception not so much) but of the 3 hotels stayed at this was by far the worstresponse / report this review -

Absolutely stunning! Clean room, great breakfast, good wifi, the staff was very helpful and the view was amazing! The prices are reasonable. They even have a mini bus to take us to the centre of Taormina, so we didn't had to drive at all while our visit. I really recommend this hotel. Claudia S, 🇬🇧

Fabulous hotel . We stayed for 3 nights while touring around sicily . This place is really nice. Bit be aware of the Friday and Saturday night techno disco that goes on till 3 am on the beach and rocks the hotel . It didn't bother us but may bother others as it's a bit out of place in a 4 star hotel . Staff were excellent. Location is slightly off the beaten track and you need a car or taxi to get to the town , taxi fare is 20 euro each way

Primera linea de playa, con playa "casi" privada y tumbonas para huéspedes, aunque tienes que alquilar toalla (3€dÃa) sino la llevas.
Muy tranquilo y un buen buffet de desayuno.
