The Martelli hotel had left me an idea of a three star mid average hotel type with a grate location ,best price and clean rooms or ambient in general , not luxury modern but typical authentic fiorentino

The hotel is amazing, it takes you back in history to the Renaissance Era, the room was very beautiful with a painted ceiling. Andreiana at the reception is a very nice lady, The one bad thing is the wifi. It

Avoid staying here at Florence. Though the location is perfect but rooms are very very small and restroom is tiny, I would say. And the reception is rude!! But only good thing is train station is nearby.

I cannot recommend this hotel. The toilet made loud noises anytime water was ran in the sink or shower or was flushed. The room smelled lightly of backed up sewer. Housekeeping "cleaned" the room but left all the trash in a bag in the room. The room was hot & the thermostat would not adjust. The bed was terribly uncomfortable. Most of lights did not work. The wifi barely worked even in their wifi areas and automatically disconnects every 5 minutes (if you can connect to begin with.)

Location is wonderful, not too far from anything. Rooms are fairly spacious although the beds are a bit old and firm. Breakfast is a bit lacking, all cold items like cold cuts, a couple fruits, cereal, and bread, but what they had was good. Service was neither exceptional nor poor, just as expected.

Worst place in many years. Staff at reception are not friendly at all. Arrived at 12:30 and were told we would have to wait until 2:30 for check-in. But parking worked well; somebody came within 15 minutes to park the vehicle in a garage for 24 Euros per day. Rooms are old, like in the Munsters or Adams Family, with no wifi at all, except in the breakfast room. We would never stay at this hotel again, and when I asked within 2 hours of check-in whether we could drop the third night, the receptionist said sure, but neglected to mention I wouldn't get a refund, which I clarified later. The beds are uncomfortable and the air conditioning hardly works at all, but makes enough noise to keep you awake all night. The door of our room will not stay closed unless you lock it with the key from the outside or inside. Now we are stuck in this place for three nights. What a horror. I think we will check out a day early anyway and eat the cost. The room is large and the bathroom is nice, though. Location couldn't be better, about 5 minutes from the main cathedral and 15 minutes to the Ponte Vechio.

Service at the front desk was abysmal. Lady had such an attitude, not welcoming at all. Also, she didn't have enough change for a semi large bill, 50 euro. This hotel is dated, I understand. The scent is different as well, but this room stank. No shower curtain and the showerhead had to be affixed to a gimmicky attachment. Beds were hard and uncomfortable. Just didn't feel clean as it looked in the pictures. This establishment is not worth anything more than $60/night.

My experience at the Martelli Hotel was a disaster. I have never done this before but want to warn future travelers. This is a sad excuse for a hotel. I would actually consider it a hostel. I placed in room that must have been connected to a recycle center because all day and night I heard bottles being thrown away. The bathroom was extremely small and actually pretty dangerous. I believe that the room I had also contained bed bugs because my friend and I got bit all over while we were staying there but there wasn't a bug in site. I'm
