This is an unfussy hotel that's clean and in a great location. It's within walking distance to two metro stations which is very useful. Breakfast is simple but tasty. It's difficult to adjust the room temperature, but that's our only real complaint. It was fixed by opening the window.

We stayed at Hotel Galles for four nights in November. The staff was friendly and helpful, fluent in English. Rooms were a decent size, and came with a stocked mini-fridge, though the mattresses were a bit firm for my liking. Great location four blocks north of Termini, and just a block from the Castro Pretoria metro stop, so it was easy to jump anywhere in the city. Would stay here again.

There was construction going on outside the hotel, renovations inside the hotel, the elevator did not always work, and I had to take shirts to a cleaner around the corner to be pressed. All of this means we had a delightful stay at Hotel Galles. Why, first because the staff was very helpful and accommodating, particularly Ubaldo. They acknowledged that things were inconvenient and apologized for the current condition, noting that it would be much nicer when renovations were complete - it is never easy to make improvements AND care for guests. Despite the construction, the rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful with a variety of foods to choose from. A little more fresh fruit would be nice. I would certainly return, if only to see how it looks after the improvements.

Well what to say , how can this be a starred hotel ?. Oh yeah its in middle of the city but the rooms are so out of date its a disgrace. When we came they offered a room on the top floor which you have to approach through a different entrance. Its so hot there and the bed was so small we could not even sleep. When we complained they shifted us next day to another building , slightly better. Breakfast is minimal. All in all i dont like it, but its very central and easily accessible.

LOCATION - The location was decent. If you are a walker, it's within walking distance to all the major tourist locations of Rome, such as the Colosseum, Circus Maximus, etc. If you're not much of a walker, you may feel a bit removed. There's no view from the hotel rooms. The street the hotel is on feels safe enough.

HOTEL - The room was OK. If you're from North America, you will find the room small, but that is just hotels in Italy, and much of Europe in general, rather than a problem with this hotel specifically. There were a number of small issues with the room, such as the bed was very low to the ground, the bathroom door had no lock, the door to the bedroom didn't fully close, the window lock was a bit finicky. Nothing worth voicing a complaint to the staff, but overall it was mediocre.

STAFF - Most of our interaction with the staff was asking for information about the tours we'd booked. Some of them were very helpful, some of them were not as helpful. But I will say, it was always easy to find someone speaking English. A number of the staff behind the desk spoke at least 3 languages.

Firstly let me say I stayed in an economy grade room in September (incase this helps people with decisions!)
The breakfast was nice, lovely pastries especially! Check in was easy anf staff could speak very good english which helped the process too. Unfortunately the aircon in my room didn't work, there was a standing fan to compensate but it didn't bring the temp down very much and was a bit too noisey to comfortably sleep. The shower gel / shampoo provided was also a little on the small side (not a huge problem for me but I imagine it might be if you had long hair to wash). The room was cleaned well though and no problems with noise. Would rate it higher but felt it was a little pricey for what you get (again a higher grade of room might have been much nicer).

I'm staying here at the moment it's absolutely shocking hotel I do realize hotel accommodation in Rome can be hit and miss I'm not looking for five star but this place has to be one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. Our room is smelly and dirty and our bed is falling apart the upholstery on chairs and bed are in bits the Air-conditioning dose not work we complained 12 hours ago but its still not fixed we had two guys come look at it but no follow up. The Wifi is continually intermittent..I could go on and on.. Please save yourself the hassle book somwhere better. One positive comment is the location is not too bad to the main train station is about them mins walk.
