Not open during the winter season so you can't go inside the buildings but you're free to walk around the site and it's a beautiful place

Beautiful countryside, but then most of Iceland around these parts is. Not a lot there apart from the house and a chapel. Waterfall is a way distant, although good to visit to see a turf house, which were still being used in other parts of Iceland up to 1970s.

A nice little viking village, with authentic interior. A little expensive in comparison to what is available to see. Everything can be seen in less than 30 minutes. Nice location with a very nice view!

We went during their closed season, so we could only walk around the area. It was beautiful and interesting. If you like history, you'll love this recreated Viking village.

Cute place right by the power station. It's a bit out of the way, but you can combine it with a visit to Stong (~5km away) and Gjain (really pretty waterfalls). Note: you can only go inside from May-August.

This is one of not many historical-cultural places that attract tourists in Iceland. It is a pity that foreigners learn little about the great history of Vikings who have been leaving at the edge of the earth for centuries. This museum will tell you some pages of the story and show the reconstructed dwelling. Thus, it is a must visiting spot to get the entire picture of Iceland. However, my score is only 4, as I think that much more may be done by the museum administration to make it more appealing.
