Worth a look just for the picturesque surrounding but not worth going out your way! Was a bit of an anti-climax to the end of our bus tour to be honest! But that's only because Gulfoss is insane!

A bit of a disappointment compared to all the other sights on our trip. The view was good but I don't think it warranted a stop off. If you are into church history then this would be an interesting stop off for an hr max. Toilets were not modern, in fact a little run down unlike every other place we stopped in Iceland

Loved the peace of this place. It is not easily reached unless you walk gingerly on the ice with boots on. The only way to reach this location is with a 4x4. Staff are friendly and informative.

Amazing place. Peaceful and with such history behind it. Iceland and it's people are awesome. 💕

Nice location with a nice view and history. Staff is really enthusiastic to give information about the church, its surroundings and the history and importance to Iceland. Not busy at all, free entrance and good toilet facilities while driving the Golden Circle route.

A nice little church. Head into the basement for a look. Nice to see the bishop's tomb there from bygone days.

The basement museum was curious, and had a handful of interesting factoids, but the building itself was rather recently rebuilt for being a historic attraction. My expectation had been for the original massive medieval church, rather than the modest modern one. It probably didn't help that we arrived about 20 minutes before dark, so meandering down the paths wasn't a strong option.

Amazing history in a pastoral setting. The history of Iceland's faith comes alive in beautiful architecture and fascinating archaeology.

The church itself is very clean and very neat. The museum downstairs is very small however and not worth 500isk each. I wished there was more history here too. The church is in a very beautiful location overlooking the lake. It is also in a convenient location when travelling the Golden Circle.

Beautiful church, the biggest Catholic Church in Iceland, also one of the only church that allowing us to enter the church. There is a small turf house beside the church, too bad there's no explanation on the function of this turf house. Interesting part is there is a small tunnel on the side of the church, also no explanation of this tunnel. Beautiful landscape around, worth the detour and spend some time here.

Neat little church with some excavated ruins beside it. Coolest thing is a short tunnel running under it from the outside. I imagine it leads to the crypt

An important historical sight for Iceland. We visited on a Monday and the place was deserted. There were much needed toilets though and a very pretty church.
