  Weve been there in 2012 so Iam not sure how things changed. But it was a free camp side. Only few on Iceland we found on our 43days bike trip like this. It was wind protected so we slept extremely well in our tent. Available WC and shower room. I really loved this place. Hope I will come back someday ;)

  Small and slightly cramped campsite in a wind protected dugout by the sea. Watch the sunrise over the magnificent mountains. Showers and restrooms available. Appears to be a free site (we couldn't find anyone to pay). Perfect spot to set up while viewing the Aurora Borealis at Heimskautsgerðið (Arctic Henge).
  
  There are no kitchen facilities, but there are two restaurants in town -- one on the main road (Kaupfélagið Cafe) and one towards the church (second floor of Hótel Norðurljós) -- and both are excellent places to dine.

  Idéal pour faire une halte décrassage et remplissage de cuve d'eau (en journée). Il y a une table de pique-nique. Pas de prix indiqués, je ne sais si c'est payant la nuit mais je pense que oui ! il y a du courant pour ceux qui veulent.

  Nice camping by the sea with everything you need. And the bird life there is unique.
