Very basic, no staff actually around, no wifi. Very noisy surrounding streets but that's what you get for being in the city centre

Decent camping, 1400 a night + 100 for tent / car. No drying room.

This place is rundown, not cleaned and the staff is unfriendly, you have to pay for everything extra! Busy streets around the campsites Don't go there unless you have no fuel left in your vehicle and have to spend the night there.

It's a bit overcrowded if you have been on a 2 day trekking seeing only 6 people. But it alright. There is no indoor common room though and showers cost extra.

Clean facilities, you can charge your electronics, covered dining area without cookers for free but no wifi, no showers included (20min = 300isk)

Large size camp field. Has places for cars, campers and tents. Hot water,showers, toilets and gas for cooking.

This is a campground in the back of a school and is hidden next to a Icelandair hotel. A decent common area and washing machine with dryer. The showers were locked and a warden never showed up to open them until late in the day so we didnt get to shower that day.

Showed up to this camp site and the women's bathrooms were closed, had to use the men's. When I came out the warden was waiting for me at the door to the bathroom and he abruptly barked, "Are you the woman in the orange tent?", before I could even wash my hands. I was not "the woman in the orange tent" I came in a camper van. I went into town, and when I came back, I went to shower. However, when I got to the stall with all my things the door had a sign saying it was an additional fee. I inquired with the cranky warden if I had to pay for that in addition to parking my van on their grass, and he said "Yes, it is my right to charge you." A simple yes would have been fine. I asked if I could have a refund seeing I had only been parked for an hour and hadn't spent the night. Obviously that was out of the question, even though that was not stated anywhere. This place is awful, and offers absolutely nothing I can't get for free at a tourist information center, i.e. water and a place to use the toilet. Waste of money.

A bit of a circus. Crowded, pricey, and not entirely pleasant, it's a fine place to crash for a night in Akureyri, but isn't exactly anything special. There's no special section for cyclists or other folks with tents, so it's a mess of RVs and campers and tents just strewn about.
