Very quaint cozy little cabins well equipped and friendly inn keeper. Some cabins have better view than others and are more private but the website doesn't tell you that. Ask for cabin away from main reception with view of waterfall.
Great place and rooms. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. Kitchen has all equipment needed (apart from oven for baking), good coffee and nice bathroom. Really great location if you are travelling the South Coast (and about 45 mins closer to Reykjavik than Vik). Close to two very impressive waterfalls (with its own little waterfall up on the mountain behind).
Everything is great about The Garage - it has the total package! It’s a very cute, adorable studio which makes you feel at home. The interior is very country style and that really matches the landscape outside. A well thought design/interior with an eye for details. It’s very clean and homey. Well equipped kitchen with everything you need or otherwise you may be able to find it in the common area. The beds are very comfortable (so far the best here in Iceland). Friendly host Siggi! Would definitely come back to stay in this place when I visit Iceland again!
Extremely charming and very thoughtfully decorated rooms. The garage is beautifully, yet remotely located. Ideal for a get away. The kitchen is relatively small but we'll equipped. Large, comfortable bed, nice bathroom. Definitely would recommend. Be sure to stock up on groceries on your way there. There are some charming options to eat nearby.
The mouse decorations were super cute and added a welcoming feeling. She made sure to add homey/personal touches, candles, guidebooks, colored pencils, etc. The bed was amazing and we slept deeply. The room we stayed in was brand new and probably the cleanest rented space I've ever been in. Anna was friendly and baked us a batch of brownies and delivered them to our room after we checked in. We never heard any other guests but knew they were there because there were cars in the parking lot. The kitchenette had everything we needed to prepare a meal. The view is perfect for relaxing and viewing the Northern Lights.
Amazing place. Simple stylish and great hosts. Loads of nice touches like the candles, coffee machine, the Apple cake on arrival. Big room and comfy bed.
We stayed here for a night in late November. Awesome experience!! The decor is very tasteful. Kudos to Anna, for the beautiful design- my wife could not stop appreciating every little detail. Also, the room we stayed in had great views. The highlight was seeing northern lights from our private walkout patio! Rooms have fully equipped kitchens, we cooked both dinner and breakfast and ate watching the sunrise. The owners were wonderful. Siggi helped us with all our questions and even suggested we move our car to a different spot to protect it from strong winds expected overnight. I’d totally stay here again, and for much longer!
Anna was impressive.
Their homes was built as something I would want to live in myself!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
We had a giggle when we were given the key to “The Bullsh** Corner”, but this place if far from that! We stayed in the newly renovated part of the Cowshed, which was simply perfect, and had a waterfall as a backdrop.I
Siggi and Anna are very welcoming and charming, and there was Anna’s homemade apple cinnamon cake for us to enjoy when we entered the room! Delicious!
The room was very large! It included a kitchenette (with induction hob, coffee machine and all the necessities), table and chairs for meals, very comfy beds, and a lovely terrace overlooking the sea shore. The bathroom was very clean and spacious.
For the eco-conscious traveller, Siggi and Anna make their own electricity on the premises, and use the natural flowing water from the mountain in their taps (and it’s delicious!).
If you forgot anything (or want to leave anything), there is a section in the common room/kitchen, where you can use the products others left behind. If you feel the need for a good read - there is a bookshelf with plenty of choice!
Overall, a perfect stay, and we will definitely be coming back!
This place is really perfect! Clean and beautiful! People were really nice. After 2 week there this was the best hotel I visited in the island. The kitchen is going to save you money. You can walk on the beach after a long day! The view is amazing. They have some really original furniture made from drift wood eaten by sea worm it's something! I recommend this place and will stop on my next visit!
You gotta stay here, you will love it! Lovely rooms and stunning views, best place to stay in Iceland
If you visit Iceland, do yourself a favor and STAY HERE! From the wonderful service from Anna & Sid, to the breathtaking views, this place is not to be missed. The rooms are beautifully decorated in a rustic, farmhouse chic style - and come equipped with a full kitchen. Upon arrival, Anna greeted us with a warm batch of Icelandic happy Marriage Cake - which tasted better than any we purchased in town. We had a lot on our plate, and were often the first guests to leave in the morning, and last to return. My only regret is not being able to stay here longer.
Great place to stay at, way better than all the hotels we stayed at so far in our Iceland trip. Great view and you can hear the waterfall from the room if you open the window too. Spacious rooms and great service too, just wish there was a grocery store nearby so we could take advantage of the well-equipped kitchen.
One of the best places I have ever stayed at! Great location with the ocean in the front and mountains on the back. The lil'houses are beautifully decorated with an icelandic touch and it family owned, by the loveliest hosts around!
Brilliant place to stay for a few nightsgreat location, views, great cottage.. simply amazing! The have just 3 cottages which is run by a couple. This couples family has been living here from the pay 200 years!
