Down a mountain and next to the sea, we camped here for our first night in iceland, it was a blast. You can go up the mountain and enjoy a beautiful sight on a moss field on one side and the sea on another.
There was only one shower though so make sur you get up early to avoid the line. No stove in the kitchen.

We stopped here just to use the showers, they were very good, nice and hot and a heater in the cubicle! The weather was awful and when we turned up the local cat ran straight into our camper for shelter! Cute cat, I felt awful having to put it back out in the rain when we needed to leave!

Looks a really cool location with the lava formations around. The ground was really hard to pitch my tent on through bending most of my pegs which I needed as it was incredibly windy. The toilet area had a hot water shower and a couple of toilets for women (travelling alone don't know the men situation) but could have done with being a bit cleaner (loads of flies in the bathrooms? and thy could do with being a bit bigger . The german man collecting the money though was so nice! If it was jus him I'd give him 5 stars. Very helpful and friendly.

Beautifully located and of you are lucky quite tranquil. We stayed for two nights and the first night was very crowed including a group of teenagers playing music on their radio. The second night was a lot nicer with less people.
Facilities are clean but cramped. The queue for the showers (1 per gender) if it is inside means your back is touching other people when at the urinal. Some shelter of you want to cook, but also cramped and nothing like an electric kettle. But still one of the nicer camping we have stayed in.

Stayed there one night in a tent.
Nice view on the sea and the surrounding lava fields. Additionally a friendly cat wanders among the tents.
In term of equipment, it's basic but clean and
Good and clean washroom and toilet, with free hot shower.
A small room with 2 sinks and 2 cooking spaces is proposed away from the wind, (you will need your own cooking material and stove though).
The camping ground is quite flat, with lots of grass and not muddy, the east side is a little bit protected from the wind by a small hill (it was windy that day).
Overall, it's a nice small camping, close to the Snæfellsjökull Park. 1200ISK per person per night in June 2017

Nice little campsite in the middle of a lava field. Beautiful views of the glacier when you hike 5 min up. Busy but not too crowded. Camp guard collects fee at night around 20hr. Use your camping card. Only one toilet and shower per gender which is a bit little and could be updated.

Quiet and small spot. I was there at the end of May, off-season, and it was pretty full so my guess is this place fills up quick. Bathroom's were clean and the shower was hot.

I honestly don't know if this place is free or not I showed up late and left early with no problem.

Good deal. Nice views, decent facilities. No wifi or kitchen but we didn't really need those. Plenty of space for a lot of campers.

Simple but effective, a short walk up on the lava field to the east will give you a great view of Snæfellsjökull. Especially at sunset it is beautiful, sun setting in the north Atlantic on the West and Snæfellsjökull in the East. Also a short walk across the street to a nice sandy beach. Lots of hot water (showers) bathrooms could have been a bit larger to accommodate a full campground, but they were clean.

Probably one of our favorite campground in all of Iceland. Cost is 1,000 ISK per person. We came in a rented campervan and loved the location. The host said it was busy but there seemed to be plenty of space and still some privacy. The bathrooms (two stalls in womens + shower) were very nice and well maintained, and there was hot water from the sink (YAY!). I didn't have an opportunity to use the shower or kitchen area but they looked very nice & more importantly clean. We didn't have kids with us but I liked that this was the only campground where I saw a playground and special area for kids- how cool!

best camping place ever! nice surrounding, decent facilities and friendly staff. if you find yourself around Snæfellsjökull, the northern side is much nicer, and from this camp you can see the most impressing sundown ever.

Easy and affordable camping with a great location. Right off the main road, this campsite is not only within view of the ocean, but it's tucked into some old lava beds, giving you a nice wind block, yet with soft, level grass to camp on. Electric boxes available. Free shower and flush toilets (one male and one female). Great place for tent, car, or RV camping.
