The waves were rolling with such a strong wind that the mist was rolling off the tops even before they hit the beach! 60 knot wind. Loved it!!

This is the most breathtaking sight to see. Like straight out of a national geographic film. Visiting here at sunset would be something to see. The black sand beach right below is also quite amazing. I have never seen sand so black before. This is a definite must while visiting Iceland!

This is one of the most amazing places I have ever been in my life. Amazing views of the entire area, ocean, beaches, birds, mountains, and more. The road to the top is in decent shape, but you must drive carefully and pay attention to what you are doing. This is a must see place if you are in Vik.

A great lookout over the water and the beaches. You can see for miles up the beach to the west and you can walk around the lighthouse. There is a great view of the land bridge with birds nesting in the cliffs and floating on the water. Its a bit of a bumpy ride getting up to the lot, but most cars should be able to do it if you take it slow and drive very carefully around potholes.

You can find Puffins flying about at this location for free! No need for an expensive tour. They are on the cliffs, floating in the water, and darting about in the sky.

A place that I would very much like to go. Have it stared in Google maps and want to plan a vacation there using the new Google tools for vacation and destination planning. Seems like a gorgeous place, if recommend going sometime towards the end of June that way the days will be longer lasting 16+ hours of daylight makes for great sunset pictures.

Beautiful peninsula with a stunning views on the black beach. Though, it's very tricky to get there in a passenger car due to the last bit of road leading up there is very rough.

This is a cool experience. You need a 4x4 to get right up to the top. There are no birds in winter.

A really neat natural arch! There is a very nice viewing platform from which you can take pictures and enjoy the ocean breeze.

This wasn't an official stop on our day tour, but I am glad we did. There is a certain type of feeling when you realize your seeing in a place that you seen many times before elsewhere, like on television, or in my case, the login screen of my computer. :)

This place hat two viewing places - the lower one is great for puffins with good road, the upper one has a lighthouse and great view over to the archway and a huge black beach, but the road to get there is horrible (you can make it even with a small car, but you have to be very careful).

Awesome place! The upper viewing area is great to see the archway and the lower viewing area is awesome for seeing the puffins (they were right there next to the parking lot!). There's also a path that leads from one area to the other that was pretty cool and I could see some puffins sitting on the cliff top.

Truly beautiful views, but be careful on the way up to the viewpoint. It's well traveled dirt, but can be a busy road. Don't miss out on the scenery on the way.

This place offers a beautiful view of one of the biggest natural arches in Iceland with a smaller one right behind it. You need 4×4 to drive all the way to the top. But don't worry, if you got a small car you can drive half way up and walk the rest of the way. (15min walk) Easy and scenic walk where you'll almost certainly encounter the iconic Icelandic Puffin bird. Not to be missed.

Great panorama views atop this cliff side. You'll want to stay up here for a bit and look around all sides. The drive up is steep and riddled with massive potholes but I made it up with an EDAN so it's doable. We went up in the winter so it was very windy and cold.

The view from the top is unbelievable. There is good bird watching, and the black sand beaches stretch for miles. While the narrow dirt road to the top is not for the feint of heart, it's amazing once you make it all the way up.

Such a beautiful view, worth even just the drive in off the main road. Iceland is different from every view, and this one doesn't disappoint. The arch is beautiful, but the entire park has a lot to offer.

When the strong wind picks up the black sand and blows it to your face and camera, it hurts. I vividly remember I can't even walk against the wind. Bring a well-covered sunglass, not to protect your eyes from sun, but to protect your eyes from wind and black sand!

The from here is amazing! The Dyrhólaey arch is lovely. You can do a little walk around here. Admire the white lighthouse and the black beach below.

Reviews are spot on for this! Worth the drive up. There are two parking lots though, make sure you turn right and switch back up the mountain to the lighthouse. 360 degree fabulous view.

This was one of the highlights of our Iceland trip. The road to get to the top was a bit scary but once at the top the scenery was mind boggling. The black sand beach below went on forever into the wild Atlantic Ocean. Turn around and there were mountains and glaciers as far as you could see. Words can't describe this beautiful gift from mother nature,
