This was my favorite meal from all my travels in Iceland. This place was so cozy and I just loved the seafood, very fresh -- served with hot flaky bread and herb butter. If you're in this area, I'd highly recommend.
Delicious seafood with nice side dish. Great service and environment
Nice fish dishes!
It’s such a big plate, we are so full!
A very special little restaurant, cozy atmosphere and welcoming hosts. We had a very good fish burgher made with a tastefull wolf fish and served with potato.
The service and food were delightful. Prices were very reasonable for Iceland. Loved the decor and old photos on the walls.
The best restaurant in Iceland!! We had fish burger and fish of the day. The fish of the day dish comes with various side veggies. I would come back to iceland to have another meal here!!! Totally worth the money.
We had a beautiful late lunch in this cosy restaurant. The seafoods were freshly selected. Dishes were served artistically. A young local chap serve us warmly. It was a shame we needed to leave the town as soon as we finished our food because there was a storm coming in
Amazing place, fantastic food, superb service. Really enjoyed it. Oh and the choco dessert heavenly delicious (and huge, too big for one, share it!)
Lovely ambience, great location, service very friendly. Food tasty, could have been bigger portions. Would recommend a visit.
Wonderful selection of fresh seafood. We tried the cured cod (appetizer), almost enough on the plate to make a meal. Also tried the fish burger (using local fish 'ling' which is a member of the cod family -- large white flakey chunks). Kinda small place, they do take reservations, you might have to wait if you just show up when they are busy. Worth the wait, but get a reservation instead and skip the wait. Nice outside dining area if the weather is good.
A very good local restaurant in this small fishing town. Amazing fish burger, friendly atmosphere.
Best seafood we have had during the first 6 months of our stay in Iceland!!! Did not like the coffee. Great environment and very friendly staff!!
We stopped at this quaint fishing town on the way to see some caves. Our tour guide had arranged a brief guided tour of the wonderful little volcanic art museum here, which has a collection of volcano depictions by artists as varied and international as the eruptions.
Works include Warhol's rendition of Vesuvius influenced by Mt. St. Helen's, and a Tiffany stained glass volcano rescued from a window of a synagogue slated for demolition.
Some of the geology teachers in our group were more interested in the art than others.
We all enjoyed lunch at either of two restaurants. The black one by the wharf, where we paused to watch the fish unloaded, served only seafood $$$. Hamburgers and fish and chips were served at the green one on the hill.
We ran out of time and had to leave the local handicraft shop where there was a small selection of Icelandic woolen and wooden items at reasonable (for Iceland) prices.
Nice little town to stop and savor local flavor.
This place must be reviewed with a 5 star! It is a marvel in this far away part of Iceland. Only this restaurant is worth the travel. My wife had a very good fish soup and I had a catch of the day. Well cooked and the plate was decorated wonderfully. The double espresso came in a very nice cup to make a superb closure to our lunch.
Really great food. The fish and mussels are from the bay the restaurant is in, and cooked perfectly. And the dessert was amazing, 3 kinds of local ice cream served with meringue, lemon curd, mousse, and toffee. It had all that but was not confused, what a great dessert.
Fantastic traditional Icelandic seafood restaurant. If you like shellfish, get the seafood tower! Really nice people, delicious food.
Fantastic food - recommend fish of the day/fish burger/chocolate cake! Really authentic and tasty food served here.
Cute little restaurant near the harbor. 4-5pm happy hour (beers are 600kr)
Excellent place to relax and talk over dinner at the end of a day walking/driving/touring Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Excellent fish soup!
By far the most delicious and fresh food on the entire island. The fish was extremely well cooked, and I don't mean "oh that was tasty." I mean "I never want to eat fish cooked any other way for the rest of my life, may I have some more please!?!?!" Perfection. Worth the drive from the east side of the island. The staff was by far the friendlies we have encountered. Thank you!
