Didn't try the food. There are better restaurants in the area. The hotel itself is pretty nice and has a hot tub outside where you can watch the northern lights. Definitely a good place to stay.
Nice hotel. Good location for visiting many tourist spots. Very stylish and comfortable room. Fancy bathroom toiletries were a nice touch too (L'occtaine). We would stay here again.
Very nice hotel with a good view of the town. No coffee machine in the room. less than 5 minutes from The Secret Lagoon. Would stay there again.
A nice stopover for overnight stay because it is located in the loop of golden circle. Located across there is supermarket and gas station. The nearby area has a lot of light pollution from the green house so the city is so bright at night especially during snow. The food is delicious although a bit pricey. They have outdoor terrace and hot tub which is good to enjoy a clear night with beer or wine.
Very clean nice breakfast and centrally located
Single story, large rooms. Plentiful electric outlets. 32 rooms. Wheelchair access, bar, luggage storage. Swimming pool across the street. Efficient staff.
Had a nice stay here - rooms are nice and clean. Staff were nice except for a grouchy older woman that was part of the breakfast/checkout staff.
Good food and service
We enjoyed our stay here. We would note that we are Saga members with Iceland Air, and the staff seemed unsure about if our stay here would be counted on our Saga account. We had to check that after our stay.
The hotel was nicely decorated and clean. The blackout curtains worked well. There was a tour group at the hotel the night we were there, but there was not a lot of noise.
Breakfast was not included in the price. It was a very nice selection of traditional Icelandic fare, and included very thin make it yourself waffles.
We had dinner at the restaurant which was very good. The steak was good, but could have had more sear on it, and it was a little over done. The salmon was very good, as were the side dishes. The ice cream sundae was great.
We would consider coming here again if we are in the area.
Expensive but clean. Sitting in hot tub watching northern lights was a major plus. Food was surprisingly great.
Hot water took about 15 minutes of running before it took. This hotel was in the middle of nowhere with no real activities and two or three restaurants nearby. Staff was friendly, but inexperienced.
During the summer, I went to their restaurant and they have really good mushroom soup, fish, dessert and don't forget the butter, they have the tastiest butter in Iceland (in my opinion). It made my trip to Iceland really memorable, I hope I can visit again.
The hotel is located on the golden circle.
This makes it a popular stop.
The rooms are quite big and they all have a door to the inner garden. In the inner garden there are two hot tubs.
The staff is friendly and breakfast is above average with a lot of choice.
Great vacation spot, relaxing and peaceful.
Quiet hotel with great architecture. Rooms are good size and have amazing view of skyline. Very nice place to stay. We had a great time staying here two nights. The rooms have patios that face an outdoor courtyard with two hot tubs. Perfect spot to catch the northern lights. Main lobby is well designed with art and newer fixtures. We had a great time enjoying the restaurant, which offers the best mushroom soup I've had. Breakfast is world class with wide selection of local food.
