The service was good and the food arrived quickly. The staff were also friendly. There’s a great view of the harbour, especially if you can get a table upstairs.
However, the food left a lot to be desired. The risotto was waaaay too creamy, with more than 50% sauce. It did however have a good amount of seafood in it. The catch of the day was also uninspiring, and came with a giant glob of pink stuff (indeterminate what it actually was). At least the presentation of the food was good. Other posters appear to have had a much better experience, but I’d say there are probably better places to eat than this, particularly at this price.
Amazing food & service! Great presentation on the catch of the day!
A great find while strolling the harbour!
My friends and I had an awesome experience at this restaurant. We went there after hearing good things about it and our experience only confirmed that: super friendly staff, great views, special ingredients and the food was REALLY GOOD!! I look forward to visiting Iceland again and having another lovely experience at Kopar ❤️
Very nice, fine dining . Risotto slightly salty/rich. Catch of the day was very nice. Holy crab start was excellent. Very expensive, approximately £75 per person, not including wine.
This place was amazing. We ordered the food adventure, and I got to try so many new foods that I had never tried before. It was all amazing. I even liked the lamb tartar and I never like raw meat. The experience was great, the food was great, the service was great, the staff was super friendly. 5 stars! (I tried to get some pictures before I ate everything, but not everything made itIt was a large meal, 3 appetizers, 3 entrees, and 3 deserts)
Food quality taste good. Prices are bit high. Overall I love the place and is cosy to look at the window outside of harbour. Is a bit far from our hotel
We had the most delightful dinner here. Everything was fabulous. My husband had the most perfectly cooked tuna he'd ever had and I had the lobster risotto which was to die for. And the tower of desserts is not to be missed.
The atmosphere here is great, with a very nice view of the harbor. The interior is nice and cozy and the food is delicious. The mostly have seafood dishes but they are prepared fantastically. The staff is really nice, with excellent service, friendly dispositions and great suggestions.
A great place for an intimate evening with someone special
Nice cosy restaurant right on the old harbour in Reykjavik. Good view out at night too. Excellent food, well prepared and presented. Walking distance from the Icelandair Marina hotel and the Harpa concert hall.
Warm and cosy atmosphere serving seafood in a culinary fashion. Strongly recommended. I had the catch of the day which was a delicious catfish. They serve fresh bread with the best butter I had ever tasted after you order. A bit expensive for dinner.
Varied yet concise menu with detailed ingredient lists and "contains nuts" notes. Dairy free options are good, dairy free version of catch of the day was excellent. Above average pricing, but worth it. Great atmosphere and superb table service. Few tables with beautiful view of the port. Not wheelchair friendly.
Dinner for two was excellent, we both had fish, I had the catch of the day and if the other days are the same standard then I say go for it. My daughter had the seafood risotto which was excellent. I can recommend this restaurant.
The service and food was absolutely incredible. They made my boyfriend's birthday celebration truly a night to remember. Couldn't recommend more!
We really enjoyed our wedding evening meal here. We had multi issues with travel and our plans mucked about, but we wrote to this restaurant early during the day & asked for a table for two thinking we'd be very lucky to even get a booking. They got us in, provided us with a lovely window seating upstairs & gave us complimentary bubbles on arrival, very kind gesture. Food was delicious. I had the vegetarian main, my husband had the arctic Char, and we shared the lobster entree & some sweet potato fries. All meals hit the mark and our cocktail was tasty, and smoky, and my Tempranillo subtle and enjoyable to drink alongside our mains.
Feel to mention that if you're reading this and keep having issues with pricing in Iceland stop and think about the quality of the food you are consuming and also understand the remote location of this country. We have no problem paying for genuine service & quality meals. Don't forget Icelanders are paid properly so tipping is also not a factor for consideration on top of the price you see on the menu.
Having been taken here almost straight from landing in Iceland at night, its a magical place with heat and lite fog rising from parts of the waters, the walk into the Restaurant and the calm and relaxation kicks in the food is expensive but worth it, the choice is a excellent and the service is fantastic.
I think it's the best restaurant in town! We had the 9 courses taste menu to share and it was delicious. You get for 100.-$ 3starters, 3 main dishes and 3desserts. All of them intensive, cooked with lots of love, differents tastes. I loved it!!! Thanks for this beautiful stay!
Amazing service, amazing food and got our minds blown apart by some wee extras. I never knew food could be this exciting!
Went for the 5 course taster menu. Possibly the best meal my wife and I have ever had. An unforgetable evening.
Slightly more pretentious than they can handle. Small portions at high prices. Nicely dressed, real fine dining look. Food was mediocre, but if they took that same produce and cooked a nice homey meal from it, it would be a much better experience. Staff member broke a glass at the table next to us and the process afterwards was long and complicated. Lots of complaining and making excuses and compromises. Why not simply comp their item and move on?
We had a three course meal meal here in exchange for a Northern Lights tour that was cancelled. This restaurant was a pleasant surprise. All of the food was really delicious. The butter served with the rye bread is dreamy and their cheese cake a sorbet were a fantastic way to end the meal. The atmosphere is trendy but not pretentious.
Meal was very tasty which was a 3 course set menu booked through a tour company as part of the northern lights boat excursion.
Great food, up market establishment with very good service although English could be slightly worked upon, the communication was fine and deferred where needed.
It would have been nice to have seen the menu of the meal however this was read out in detail at the start and during the meal.
