Beautiful hotel right next to the Blue Lagoon Hot Springs. The only hotel. Breakfast was amazing with a huge spread of food and drinks.

They have their own little hot spring pool too..

You stay here for the private lagoon! The staff are friendly but the service isn't completely 5 stars.

Some important notes regarding the lagoon:

1. The overwhelming smell of sulphur is hard to take initially but you will get use to - slightly.

2. The lagoon will significantly dry your hair out and make your skin feel dry. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner. Once you have a good wash your skin and hair will be nice and soft.

3. Other than swim at the lagoon there isn't much else to do, so make sure you hire a car.

I recommended spending 2 to 3 nights here max.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Silica. The staff was friendly, food was good and of course the private lagoon was amazing. I also like that they do a wake up call for Northern Lights. We stayed here on our last night and one of our main things we really wanted to experience was the Northern Lights and as we were soaking in the private lagoon we saw it! It was definitely an experience that will be in our memories for life.

Great location but poor front desk service. The lady (Anna) assisted us check in was with a very COLD attitude and we didnt think this is what we should deserve with paying such a high rate per night. We booked one room for our last night in Iceland at Silica hotel. Unfortunately this is the worst stay experience we had for the entire trip.

this is the hotel to stay at, period. it's about the best you can get in Iceland. guests staying here get a complimentary blue lagoon premium pass (which really don't come cheap), so you might want to visit the blue lagoon whilst staying here, especially since it's a 8 minute walk away. but you don't really HAVE to, because this hotel comes with its own private lagoon which is honestly way better and way more quiet than the blue lagoon. especially in winter, having welcoming hot spring water just steps from your room is a godsend. the breakfast is decent, and the rooms are clean, well appointed, and have a open patio that overlooks lava rocks and blue water streams. this place may be pricey, but it's worth every cent.

Had an amazing stay here from August 26-27. The price might seem high but with all the extras that come with a night stay here it works out to be a great deal especially for expensive Iceland. We loved the decor,textures and the views the hotel offers. The breakfast which is included in our night stay was the best we had in Iceland. The private lagoon is amazing and open till midnight.

we spent a night at the Silica hotel during our honeymoons in Iceland. The rooms was great, and gave us a surprise chocolate plate which was awesome and the overall environment was just amazing, must try if you’re going to the Blue Lagoon anyway.

Considering the location this is a great hotel. If you get here before 3 pm they will watch it your bags and take them to your room while you are in the lagoon. We had 28 with a view of water and lava. Turn right and you are on the way to the lagoon. Perfect first or last stop.

I have stayed at plenty of five star hotels, this is not one. With that said, this is the best hotel experience I've ever had.

They are lacking in the amenities that true five star hotels have, like a bellhop to help with luggage from the super windy parking lot where there is a real potential for the luggage cart to roll away into another car, or room service. The hotel however makes up for it's shortcomings by providing an experience you simply cannot find anywhere else. For young travelers like myself the minor things missing don't really matter. I can bring my own luggage and leaving the hotel to find local food nearby is fun.

Where they excel is: Breakfast, pool, location, ambiance, relaxing vibe, one of a kind experience.

This hotel is really amazing, the pool is like nothing you've experienced before. And though you get passes to blue lagoon the private hotel lagoon is infinitely better.

I visited both the blue lagoon and silica hotel. Blue lagoon was less crownded . The silica hotel is very modern, good looking . View from the room on the lava field was awesome, the hotel's lagoon was quite empty on evening and the breakfast has so much choice.

Everything fell right into place. From the moment we walked into the hotel, we felt a sense of serenity. The staff was friendly, the coffee after our night swim was tasty, and the place is just picturesque. Loved everything about our stay! A great way to start our vacation.

We visited both the Blue Lagoon and the Silica Hotel. The experience was by far best at the Silica Hotel. They have a lovely little lagoon and an absolutely great restaurant. Silica hotel can give you every bit of the experience that the Blue Lagoon can; but it is more quiet, pleasant and comfortable. When you are done you can get good food and a large selection of tea. Very, very nice hotel. Wish I had more time to stay there. The location itself is so beautiful my mind was blown. The walk between the Blue Lagoon and Silica Hotel is only 2 - 3 minutes, but bring a light if walking at night, at the small lights along the paths aren't quite adequate. The hotel will supply you with flashlights, and tell you about this when you express your desire to go to the Blue Lagoon. Of the many hotels I've stayed at, this is one of the best.

This is an amazing place. My friend and I showed up wet and caked in mud after days spent touring the country. We relaxed immediately. The staff is very friendly and welcomed us. They are ready to help with anything you need. The rooms are lovely, the beds are insanely comfortable. And the lagoon is to die for! By far, the most amazing and relaxing evening of my life. It was decadent. And the breakfast is wonderful - a nice assortment of foods. I would absolutely stay here again. It is worth the price.
